It would be nice to see a nationalist "idea" play out fully. When it crashes and burns, maybe the rest of the world will pull their heads out of their asses.

Post-vietnam US wars have not had much visible significant effect on day to day life of European and US citizens. Sure, it matters if you're in the military, or work for a contractor, etc... But this is a minority, not enough to see political action anywhere on the scale of previous major US wars.


Edit: not to say they don't have significant widespread effects, but they are not immediately attributable in a way that matters for the average voter.

What lands said, nobody really cared much about those. It doesn't really scratch the nationalist itch to be fighting inferior foes like that.
