That would be a rather ridiculous amount of effort from a near-nonexistent group of developers for a game community that's mostly dead.

Several people have. The latest attempt was by TB and I think he talked to you about it? I was supposed to help him with it but ehhhhhh

I disagree. There's a clear plan towards getting Allegiance 2 made, it's just that it's a rather long path that most people don't want to go through.
We've been so focused on every attempt to do it in-house which is rather ridiculous. I always thought that the steam release would be a viable proof of concept that we could then take to a major developer and say, "hey, we have this idea to make a new game. It's going to be similar to this already existing game, but different. Here's the design document that we came up with, and we've shown we have a market for it."

Sad. I was hoping for more. If Steam can't help Allegiance, it's dead. Really is STILL the best game I've played.
Last one out, shut the lights off and lock the door.

There have been at least half a dozen in house Devs start doing an Allegiance 2.
I'm curious what their "design" for Allegiance 2 would be and how varied their ideas are/were?

Does anyone know what the name of the "Game engine" for Allegiance is?

Allegiance is its own engine. It isn't built on another graphics engine.

Alto trek is what inspired Rashid to make Allegiance, not the game engine
