When the army phrases out the M1A2, the tanks get hand over to the police departments.
Well just no to your edit
The tank has about a bizillion versions tbs so the vast majority are good old M1A1s but much like djole you will probably be dead by the time they go out of service.
While there are a @#(! load of qualifiers the Abrams history is amazingly spectacular. While never fighting a Russian driven tank there advantage is so lopsided in tank on tank encounters Putin had to wrestle a Tiger and on part with the old Panzer vs Sherman grudge matches
Longevity doesn't mean it is superior, reference the AK47.
You will almost certainly be dead before the last F15 is decommissioned as they are still being built and upgrades are still going on. You are welcome to like anything you want and for any reason of course.
The designator you use are many years old to help you out. If I claimed the F15A was bestest evah would be the equivalent to using the pretty crappie SU27 which while 20 years younger was a bit of a kludge when the USSR first put them in service. The sexy as $#@! MIG29, IIRC, has gotten spanked hard by the fat girl SU27 in actual combat. Results are suspect given the countries involved imho. The later and much much improved versions have different NATO applied numbers... and what I assume you refer to in your post.
You can buy any of the planes you mentioned with the caveat being the first version, A, for the F15 is the only ones I know of but a surprising number of very modern versions of the Russian planes are in the hand of private collectors, including US citizens fwiw.
Remember the bits and pieces you strap on is generally the most significant factor on who goes home and who buys the farm.
I saw relatively recently in a documentary that the US plans to replace their entire fleet with planes a la F22/F35 so I thought they might hand me one F15 while all the Top Gun fans are still fighting over the F14.
Honestly I don't care much which one beats the other in which configuration in terms of combat ability. I want teh pretty planes (that being said I certainly wouldn't mind getting an F22)

Dispossession is okay, banning weapons is not (even when defense is organized by a standing army instead of a militia).

Australia has had gun control for 20 yrs following the Port Arthur massacre . Stats show death by firearms has decreased - though back in the day most were self inflicted . There's still plenty of other options available to kill someone without a firearm if thats your forte . Throwing somebody off a highrise balcony is the latest trend . Just tell the cops they were high or drunk as a maggot . Myself - I legally own a 20 gauge shotgun & an old Walther P 38 . Only use them when trekking to my weed garden to kill black tiger snakes . Still don't feel the need to own a full automatic weapon .
