If they know you are going to pass, they are more likely to pick it off.

You don't need to repeat yourself, I am sure everyone understands what you have already said.

With the ball on basically the one foot line, you run your team up to the goal line and do a quarterback sneak. (Seattle does have the best rushing QB in the league)
No touchdown, use the time out.
Now think about running the ball with Lynch or a pass play.
IMHO a bad call by the Seahawks that cost them the Superbowl.

On a side note I was shocked NE never used a timeout to stop the clock in case Seattle did score a touchdown.

Belichick said in post-game comments that he was going to call the TO, but saw they were staying in 1 TE, 3 WR, 1 RB.... and decided not to.

We can all talk like we know what the hell went down, but that guy is the real deal.

I give him credit for making a call that most people don't even understand with the benefit of hindsight.

With that offense on the field, you spread the defense out which also allows you to run the ball with less defenders loading the box.
I still think NE not taking a time out was an odd call and Seattle not doing a QB sneak or a hand off to Lynch was a terrible call.

As P1 pointed out, a throw got them 3 attempts instead of 2.
The probability of an interception was only a few percentage points, and well worth the 50% increase in chances to get the ball in.

Belichick anticipated this when he saw the personnel grouping, and didn't call the TO, because if he did call the TO they would bring in their goal-line offense and rush three times from half a yard out.

It was two correct decisions, from two of the best coaches of the sport.
Yall just sit there in your armchairs
