Not sure where you've been, beta has always been at the least frustrating, when it even works.

I can appreciate the effort, but why does this beta version or the server exist?
It sits idle for years and you clearly have no intention or resource to develop it further much less release it.
Seems like you're posting this to announce that you're actually doing something useful. Even though it's useless to everyone.

Least he's doing "something" other than sitting on the forum trolling and giving out @#(!.
If you want development learn it yourself and create some good patches or new features.

How much more development should we do in vain? Putting up a beta server that serves no purpose whatsoever is like paving roads that nobody will ever travel on.

I dont disagree with you on your point. The beta system is stifled and underused massively. Its also one of the many reasons devs dont bother to dev anymore, its very frustrating spending hours on things for them to not be used with no reason or warrant.
The fact I feel the same doesnt mean I act the same, I just stopped developing completely, like a few people, however you dont see me complaining at someone trying, that is unfair and unneeded as it doesnt help the current situation.
I personally think the development needs a restructure. Have large release points is pointless at this stage and stifles the development. The system should be changed to allow mini release or even go as far as a straight patch live system and just $#@! off the beta altogether, so new features and bugfix implementation goes live for our already small playerbase to test.
See there is a difference between complaining on a subject and trying to help fix it. Personally I am no longer in either category, but someone like yourself who is active and was active with R6 development could do better than complaining.

My point exactly. When I see the beta servers brought online without the underlying structure to bring development for which the servers are meant for, I can't help but ask what on earth is the Dev Leader thinking? How is his effort useful in any shape or form? His focus is completely off track and going down a path that will reap zero benefit to the community or development of Allegiance.
Meanwhile,... we can clearly see the numbers continue to fall with no hope in sight.

Oh yeah, forgot about the beta bug bounty...
And exactly what development have you accomplished since you've become Dev Leader using that ridiculous method? NONE!

Beta is compatible with ASGS/CSS, againUnnecessary features were removed (for example AllegSkill will be done with CSS, because of access to source code/database)Fixed a hole, which allowed contain people to crash serversTrivial smaller changes
So what have you done, except bitching and blaming other people for doing nothing?
I think this
discussion is over.
