As with most of these impressive looking demos for space sims, when it actually comes to the combat they tend to suck, and the combat is basically all I play space sims for, not the amount of randomly generated planets or gratuitous amounts of bloom they can stick in to everything -- its why Allegiance pwns garbage like Eve.
Whether its Naumachia, Black Prophecy, Jumpgate: Evolution, (especially) Eve or this, none of them can compete in the actual gameplay -- its all just assorted prettiness without the gameplay to back it up. I may be jumping to conclusions seeing as how afaik there are no videos of combat for this yet but I'm not expecting too much from this.
I admit it does look pretty though :3

I havent read much yet but it seems development is verymuch alive and recent, check out their site.

Actually a huge sandbox isn't that great in itself. Those who played Elite will have learned this several decades ago. You want a small cluster of interesting places, like Privateer updated for modern machines.
/edit ah, didn't notice Spunky already made the same point. We are in agreement.

lookin at this, the game seems to be much like a 'sims' game...only you can fly and shoot @#(! (im not to familiar with sims games so dont hold me up on that). Heres a rundown of the gameplay, I like it

To be fair though this is a multiplayer sandbox so it should be interesting exploring the universe without pre-defined areas of interest already made so the players themselves influence where the action takes place, might be interesting to see how the galaxy develops in terms of politics, you might even get player run governments as a plutocracy forms.
I would find it very interesting to see something like that develop like a simulation of human exploration and colonisation in space.

An infinitely sized mmo essentially means everyones playing single player on the same server, amirite?
The game is cute in concept, but to grand in scale. Limit the universe size to some fraction of the playerbase and scale planets/systems down to 1/5 or something and they may have something.

well think of it this way, not EVERYWHERE is to your benefit. The population of the game would act much like matter, kinda everywhere, but then clusters and becomes organized. You dont see humans on EVERY square foot of the planet.

YOU SHALL WAIT NO LONGER!!!
See my signature. Not really relevant at this point, since EVERYONE WAS SOOO INTERESTED. *stares angrily around the room*
Anyway, not really that bad. They ended up focusing on the engine (so they can make some $$$), so this game is on the back burner for now. I think this should be brought up again (and maybe the link at the bottom used once again) when active development resumes.
