Some of the new people get on for their first game at the wrong time during Alleg's Zombie Period where you can't find any decently sized games. Once with only 3- people online I remember a (0) saying...
Well this used to happen now and then and this week I haven't been playing "late night" due to some whiners complaining small game perceived "stack" with a small number of players online etc AFTER they strolled on in and saw a game going on. At least it was a game but some prefer just complaining in noat all game. Other things are more appealing for me at the moment.

You're Singaporean so you play in my timezone, yet I hardly even see you online.

Anyway I see masta and jimmy play far more than most of the people posting in this thread chastising them so dunno what the hell that's about. Jimmy in fact despite some of the crazy setts does at least help games happen and micromanages newbies and that gives newbies purpose addressing one of the main issues re "feeling lost". At least they get to play and not have to be drowned out by whining from the usual suspects (i.e Tigerfish, Statsguy etc)

DonKarnage wrote:QUOTE (DonKarnage @ Jul 1 2011, 01:37 AM) What exactly are masta and jimmy doing that would lead one to believe that they are having a very detrimental effect on this entire game?

I really don't play enough to know, only 1 or 2 games every few days
Jimmy CONSISTENTLY ruins EU primetime games with stupid settings and has a tendency of dropping comm on random people if his opening constructor or miner gets killed, then getting GC back when everyone clears out after a crappy game and sitting on it until he can ruin another. He's the reason European Primetime isn't anywhere near as active as US primetime.

Masta drives off players by bullying them for laughs. He has a tendency to look at any situation and pick a target then attempt to wear them down. The more bored he is or the funnier he thinks picking on someone else is, the harder he picks until they leave because they're tired of dealing with him. He was permabanned for regular and consistent harassment spanning well over 12 months. While he has his good days and he's a LOT of fun on his good days (A LOT OF FUN!) most new players are going to take one look at his "bad day" schoolyard-bully attitude and decide that if this community lets people get away with stuff like that, they can go play with the "more mature" folks in Runescape and WoW.

Maybe, but there's only one game going at any time more or less so fair proportion of the game's population sees masta when he misbehaves (and can't bugger off to another area/server to avoid him like you can in other games).

It's the difference between being an Asshat to other people in a football crowd or a family gathering.

Almost no-one will notice someone being an ass-hat to someone in a crowd, whilst if you are at a family gathering every member of the family will discuss it behind your back how you "made poor Emily cry" for months afterwards, even if the bitch deserved it.

tl;dr
In a small community misbehaviour is noticed more, and also remembered more (for better or worse).

Ok, what did you say about Emily?

Silly girl kept prattling on about how she wasn't the casual WoW peon and some rubbish about being a top competitive player. In my opinion, Our Mr. Jarvis was completely proper to do what he did, even if it took most of a bottle of Appletini for him to get up the nerve.

Good show, I say!

Giving fufi GC and letting him go against 0's is killing the playerbase. Also I've noticed a pattern of death everytime he commands on any server. I've found that to kill a server: Give Fufi GC

I say banninate him =D

I think the biggest problem with alleg right now is that not only is there a small player base, but half of the players that are around love noat, lack the stones to try to comm, and as has always been a problem, ruin the games that do start by stacking. It's always tricky but with smaller games it feels exaggerated. If a new player can't log on and get into a good game, why would they stick around. The rest of us try cuz we know how good alleg can be, but the truth is most of these small games suck rhini cock. Not enough new blood is alleg death.
