RT vs XT
I thought it was on Planet gandy.
Was quite funny, for some reason my connection was especially laggy last night, packet loss the works, and I gave up flying ints after about 5 minutes of the first game (not that I'm particularly good normally, but it was pretty impossible to hit anything).
Twice I got podded about a second after I thought I'd got away, and more than once found myself trying to pick up items which were gone.
lol.
Thanks for the games XT, both hard fought - very well played on the first game.

First game we bough endgame tech (bombers) and we lost.Psychosis wrote:QUOTE (Psychosis @ Jun 13 2011, 07:16 AM) Grav only wins games through methods other than resign when he makes a mistake and buys his team some endgame tech
Second game we didn't buy any endgame tech and we won.
So clearly, buying endgame tech means we lose, hence we shouldn't buy any

Oh yes. Since we all knew it was all of 10 - 15 min in the coming, of course you had to resign a squadgame.Shizoku wrote:QUOTE (Shizoku @ Jun 13 2011, 05:51 AM) We had better things to do than watch grav figure out how to end a game.
Well, we're getting used to it
Anyway, that was a minor thing. Fun games both of them. Hard fought and all that.

<bp|> Maybe when I grow up I can be a troll like PsycH
<bp|> or an obsessive compulsive paladin of law like Adept
I can only assume that Viru wanted to take a page out of Idra's quitbook.
Besides to add some infos to Gandalfs writeup: Server was Planet and Setts (1.0/1.0) in both games. After seeing XT claim the middle Exp rock in the first game I rolled the dice and did indeed invest in Bombers to kill the Tech right away from our close base low. Unfortunately I also bought a caltrop at the same time and had to find out that one of my docking miners was empty. So we were 1k short of finishing the research and it all went to hell since our timing window was completely ruined
Game #2 - Our TP went low with our OP and we lost our nicely crippeling OP in Rigel but the replacement OP wasn't killed. It simply was ripping around a lot since XT constantly delayed the escort from joining up by swarming other sectors in annoyingly high numbers to chase our Miners (Which they continued to do even after it was up in Delgon). Also what has the world come to when the majority of squaded players doesn't consider AdvCons end game tech anymore? With Jyppa being a pestering eye in our home there was not a single location on the map with a close enough traveling distance where we could have launched an uneyed bomb run to inflict some major damage. HvyInts or not - In a situation where one team can defend on alephs with mini2 you don't want to gamble on the mere hope that they wont react quick enough when your bomber pops up on the minimap.
HTTs might have been stopped the same way and with Specs up for XT you kinda want something to kill bases. So I rather choose a good timing to push an unstoppable Con down your throat, put it in a place where it really hurts and go for the kill with surgical precision while a followup unfolds in the background (In this case Ab2/MissleDmg/Med2 Bombers about to launch in XT's home while another con was preped for XT's Exp).
This being said - thanks for the games! See ya next time.
ps: ofc galv's would have been an option too but that had taken us another 5min's

At least the second time this has happenedMrChaos wrote:QUOTE (MrChaos @ Jun 12 2011, 06:15 PM) XT = resign... forced on them by RT
Isn't this the fourth sign of the apocalypse?
edit: spelling what else
I joined up for the latter half of the game and had some fun flying

Things have changed since you last saw us kopper, now all it takes is for the game to get past 9 minutes and you can resign with honour
