At a certain skill level (one that I'm not quite at yet) the reticule becomes less important. What is more important is to watch your bullets to make sure they are hitting. Even if the reticule is green (not considering GAs that screw with it) your bullets may not be hitting.

The reason to fix it (kinda) would be that currently lead indicators are even more annoying than one would think. Not only are they in the way, but also misleading.

Thanks Brood, I put the extra effort into it so you could understand.

Hee hee, puts me in mind of this....

I am listening, and i do understand what you are saying, but i disagree.

I'm doing all three things at once"

Cool points to those who know from where. From memory so probably a few words out of place, but you get the gist...

Yeah, the very reason for this question was me wondering about what is the point of the reticule in the first place, if out of two things, it's supposed to do (The first one being telling you when you are in range, and the second one being telling you where to aim), it fails at both of them, once the Range is upgraded...

The reticule is pretty useless yes it doesn't really help to aim and there's no point shooting at max range in a dogfight so there's no use for the rangefinder either. Half the time there's no reason to even target what you are shooting assuming you're in an int which you should be.

targeting a ship gives it update priority so it lags less iirc

It is 100% accurate if you are shooting the stationary base. Essentially, it's more or less a guide. It's not meant to be used like a stoplight (IT'S GREEN! GOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGO!!!!) As said before, you're supposed to watch your bullets when you aim. Of course, any advice coming from me about aiming is pretty moot, as I cannot aim at anything that isn't a drone.

The reticule being solid green indicates that (with no GAs applied) the gun in slot 1 (or the gun you last mounted manually) will hit the target based on it's and your current speed and vector.

You want to watch the bullets because:

1 - GAs mess it up as discussed above
2 - You want as many guns to hit as possible, not just 1

To hit all your guns on anything but a head on angle takes someone with 5 times the precision of a brain surgeon. Some players have somehow mastered this, the rest constantly miss by 25-50m
