I just started playing, not knowing there was a forum until six months later.

Joined the forum, found out about Cadet. Took Cadet. Six months later, when I was forming SPQR, took Cadet with a whole bunch of other Legionaries.

I did a little from Column A and a little from Column B.

I started reading the Academy before I played my first game, but there's only so much you can absorb with no in-game context. So I played some, read and re-read some, played more, etc.

Of course I jumped right in it. Then I saw that I don't get anything what's happening. Then I read the stuff at alleg academy

I started the game, remapped my keys and flew a bit around, didn'T get what was going on and did some reading. Then I proceeded by playing and reading in the breaks in between games.

First thing I did was do a few training missions. Then I read a few pages of CDT1 when I reallized the game was cool, then I flew my first circles in a real game.

I've been perfecting my orbital pattern ever since.

i read all of the alleg academy pages when i started and whatever else i could get my hands on. coming from the rts camp, the strategic angle was particularly interesting to me so reading battle reports was a very natural transition for me (starcraft -> alleg)

I read all the material while I was waiting for the client to download and my callsign approved. I thought it was the coolest @#(! ever when I read it, lol.

Only read some of the academy tutorial and didn't get any of it, flew the tutorials though. It took a few months before I even registered a forum account and I flew with keyboard for at least three months

I read most of the academy stuff because I'm weird like that, then did the old Cadet at some point after I joined (when my username was "StarmanOmega"). Of course, I only ever played in one squadgame four years ago so I still suck
