Allegiance as private club
Feeling hurt?
Since you despise forum lawyering I will refrain from explaining why is an online game a bad environment for trying to learn manners. As for my post, it is regrettable that you feel yourself included in those who might find my constructive criticism...fitting for themselves.
If it is so, learn to receive criticism if you so like to give it

I think you misunderstood me. I was curious why you said something so stupid and wondered if there was a reason that I missed. I appears there was not.
It appears that you are one of those people who think because Jimmy is completely off the wall bat @#(! crazy in Allegiance his manner is the same way in real life. It also appears you are one of those people who think people care about other people's manners in a video game. I'm sure Nak is lying awake somewhere right now crying to himself because he was a dick to people in a video game.
I think there is a Growing up With Barbie video game that can dispense lessons in manners to you if that is what you desire. A space sim where the goal is to blow up other people isn't really about that though
p.s. at least contribute something to the community every time you feel the need to throw in your 2 cents. I know everyone enjoys having a good time off the hard work and sweat of another - and blathering as well but even a 5 dollar contribution or helping set up Zone Games or marketing would go a long way. Or command games for the enjoyment of everyone. Many options.

I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

My apologies.

I've never seen a vet treat a newbie who is trying to learn with disdain. I've seen many wannabes try to wave their dick at the new folk, but they usually get smacked down by actual vets.
For that matter, I've rarely seen a vet treat a clueless newbie with disdain. The worst reaction they usually get is a *shrug*.
The only newbies who get any abuse are the ones whoMade no effort to learn, andExpect the entire team to do their bidding, andWillfully disregard the commander's instructionsEven then, several players usually try to give the offender gentle correction.
The majority of taunting that I see consists of spidey taunting nuke.
Now, if there are specific situations, with specific players and chatlogs, please name and shame. I mean, dude, every time I log in to TF2, I am treated to some maladjusted adolescent telling me to uninstall the game because I suck too much (apparently it is my fault whenever someone gets backstabbed). Allegiance is a $#@!ing Coke commercial in comparison.

Perfect example of Adepts point. God if we could all only be as good as Spidey

I can't imagine anyone who hates newbies. However, I hate newbies who spend their time who haven't a clue, act like they do, and expect everyone to treat them as some sort of god.

+1, Pretty much all the taunting I see are between players who are fairly established in the community.

+1 again. Adept, it really sounds like you don't live in the real world of online gaming (lol). Over at StarCraft UMS if you $#@! up once everyone flames you for thirty minutes. If you are downloading a map because you haven't had it before, you'll get banned from the game. Sometimes if you're lucky enough to make it into certain games, if the game has a "ban player" button (which some maps do) you'll get banned for the first mistake, or even for saying something that's mildly incorrect, or even for asking a question.
Even if none of the players are newbies, the amount of trash talking and just bull@#(! that goes on that's the equivalent of CGing becomes absurd. People disconnect to ruin games just because they're upset with their team, people use drophacks to win or just out of spite, and the communication skills are absurdly horrible.
It's actually a perfect example of Clay_Pidgeon's point, since Adept has been here long enough that he can't really be classified as "new."ryjamsan wrote:QUOTE (ryjamsan @ Jan 16 2010, 05:47 PM) Perfect example of Adepts point. God if we could all only be as good as Spidey

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.

Spidey hurt my feelings in a decade old video game. I want a cookie. I guess I'll have to settle for some of this:Clay_Pigeon wrote:QUOTE (Clay_Pigeon @ Jan 16 2010, 08:36 PM) The majority of taunting that I see consists of spidey taunting nuke.
PS - Next time Spidey hurts your feelings you should comm and go belt tacyard against him. He will cry about it for a solid 30 minutes and simultaneously claim sy is not overpowered.
