I like the amount of feedback!

For those interested in coding, I suggest looking through the panda3d manual (it has a tutorial at the begginning, but its worth hanging on to after that since it has a lot of stuff you need to know for doing panda coding). It's probably worth getting used to the python code first, since any c++ coding will have to integrate with python anyway, and python will ease your way in (plus, 90% of the manual is for python).

As sambasti said, the places to be are the quantus forum and irc channel.

for those completly unaware of quantus, but interested in looking it up, the forum is Development Zone->Misc. Development->Quantus.

Some experience with C++, sign me up. Mind you I'll have to take a quick refresher before I can properly code.

Actually you're thinking C. Modern C++ doesn't have a whole lot of explicit allocations, deallocations, and pointers. Or it shouldn't, at any rate. It's mostly using standard containers, RAII, and references.

The issue is C++ you have a lot of abstractions to avoid a lot of the tedium of C, but those abstractions leak and you really can't be good at C++ without having a good understanding of the tedium that is going on underneath you.

Since I'm learning C++ and python already (completely new to programming) I may join and see it in action. You may want to start a newbie forum to answer questions though :P

People learning is fine. Just join the #Quantus IRC channel on Quakenet, and people will guide you through the setup.

Finn won't be here all week, so no one can help you coding (I suck too), but you can get a dropbox set up and look at the files.

Why dont you guys wait for the Infinity Engine to be released and then create Quantus based on that Engine?

// oops ground based, ok disregard my comment ;)

I am interested in helping Quantus too, i have moderate knowledge in c&c++, but they are a bit rusty because my last great project is now 3 years ago.

Check the stickied topics in the Quantus forum for some quick and useful information.

Dropbox is extremely easy to set up. We are using Dropbox for the entire project, not just models. All of our latest code is on there.

We use IRC for discussion (of course), and it would be very helpful if y'all could get onto #Quantus on Quakenet.

Count me in once again when things are stable. I will be setting up a few things during the summer that will take up a lot of my time then. After that it's all maintenance. Then you will get some action from this guy.

I can do CPP, textures, models, music, sounds, you name it!

What I can gather the types of models that a sorely needed are animated infantry models.

I attempted to animate an infantry, and it was @#(!, and however much i tried it was still @#(!. so i gave up =P
