My position, as stated before- currently XRM is more powerful than other finishing tech, and that is bad.

But my preferred solution is to buff SBs and HTTs to be more in line with XRM, as turtles are hell and my ideal Allegiance game is 45 minutes long.

Wouldn't we need to hasten bios then?

Keep it as it is.

XRM is damn expensive to use outsripping all other end-game techs except lots of caps. Also an XRM run is easier to stop if the tp2 is killed unlike SB's which if you get 6 in a sector its pretty hard to stop.
If you want teams to stop using XRM then stop letting them get so much money, in terms of cost effectiveness XRM's are probably more buck for your bang.

maybe you can make the missiles a bit slower at the same range so it is easier to shoot them down.
I have a johnson photo in my profile since 2010.

its a end game tech. leave it. its ment to end games by a show of force and money just like a SY. besides pop the tp2 and its over you got about 3 min befor the next one unless theres several tp2 scouts(wich is the norm i think(speulation))

I have not used XRM too often. I think tp2 drops, sB runs, and any type of bomb run has the same common solution to counter it, good probing or active PP scouts. Perhaps instead of nerfing XRM, we need to look at providing ways to better counter it. Making probing something folks would be more inclined to do would be a good start.

I will be in a game where I nan or scout or probe, and it is rewrding to contribute to the team, but it is frustrating as hell when the glory goes to the ones who kill cons, miners, or whore. Killing miners and cons is importnt and is certainly the best way to cripple an enemy's chances of winning. However, what about probing so their bomb runs get eyed or their miners for the miner killers to see them and hunt them.

Making probing a way to get some points would be helpful I think. It would also make bombing of any kind harder if folks are probing. Just my thoughts. :D

Nerf it. Here's my explanation why:

Originally I was all for keeping XRMs. Then, while I was gone from the game I realized that it is way too powerful even if it does cost $20/missile. A knowledgeable commander can and will successfully implement XRM tp2 drops that cause the demise of the base dropped upon. It's a powerful tech that needs to be nerfed, regardless of if people "still use it or not."

This past week I've seen it used more than twice. One time it failed, the other time the team got raped. In the hands of someone that knows how to utilize a good drop, XRM is deadly and shouldn't be allowed in the game. But I realize that not too many commanders who know how to do so will use XRM because it takes away strategy and implements the bombwhoring mentality. I'd rather see it nerfed, like have the distance reduced to 2.4k or something, and see how that fairs out.
