Bought one when my MS sidewinder brokedown.
Fixed my old one, boxed up the logitech.
It's so mediocre ... I hate mediocrity !

I got the logitech attack 3, I bought 2 of them because I already wasted like 3 new (genius and other brands) useless units because of their unplayable deadzone. I don't know that model, but attack 3 is not fancy but precise, I recommend to use windows drivers instead of logitech's.

Also you could get a left hand controller for strafe, throttle, and other stuff, for me it showed to be better than having all the buttons in the joystick itself.

I use a logitech Freedom 2.4 which is very close to the one you showed. It is actually a wireless JS. I have had no problems out of it. In fact, I would highly recommend it for the hvy base, and overall durability. Had it for a few months so it's good and broken in. Rides like a Cadillac now! I think it was about $35 US, but don't quote me on that.

I really could use the one with the heavy base, I wonder how much improvement I would notice.

I still play with a keyboard and mouse, using almost the exact default keyboard settings at that. 8 years and counting... to late for me to change now.

I've used this joystick for the last 5 years. The biggest problem with it is that you really have no way to recalibrate the stick when it starts to wear. Otherwise, its been a great stick moving over from the original MS Sidewinder with the number of buttons available.

Btw, I have 2 of the metal base ones.

I bought two of them at wal mart and they both went wonky on me after a time. The one I bought at circuit city is much better. Don't shop at wall mart, but DO buy the stick, it is excellent.
