plus if/when the con builds, the probe will be INSIDE of the base and unkillable, very poor sportsmanship as well and tantamount to cheating.

yea this is what i was looking for. stopping the cons is one thing, but if doing this "trick" renders the probe unkillable, then obviously it shouldn't be done. i was just asking this because it occurred purely by chance and i thought that the probe ought to break apart from the cons ramming it just the same way as i could kill a probe by ramming my spaceship on it (but it didnt appear to do so).FingerBang wrote:QUOTE (FingerBang @ Jun 10 2008, 12:29 AM) plus if/when the con builds, the probe will be INSIDE of the base and unkillable, very poor sportsmanship as well and tantamount to cheating.
This happened in a game I was in yesterday morning. Specifically it was a Dreg Sup, with a Bios probe inside.Adaven wrote:QUOTE (Adaven @ Jun 10 2008, 02:54 PM) I'm not sure you can get probes close enough to the rock for that to work anymore. The anti-tp2-inside rocks code kill regular probes as well.

The 'destroy probe' code is specific to teleport probes only.Adaven wrote:QUOTE (Adaven @ Jun 10 2008, 02:54 PM) I'm not sure you can get probes close enough to the rock for that to work anymore. The anti-tp2-inside rocks code kill regular probes as well.
