I remember when first 30+ games. 3-4 on either side. I learnt the controls well and every player counts. I loved my newbie days (although quit if shipyard was active because...). @#(!, when I am actively playing even I would like to play a side game occasionally although I like the big OMG SO MUCH TOO DO LUZs games but I agree with the above.

I told people this would happen when R4 is released and gives us all the ability to create our own games, instead of being forced into always-open games set by the serverops.

I think that the best games are usually around 15 vs 15. bigger games tends to be laggier and much more closed(harder to mine, harder to sneak, etc).
Smaller games tends to be a more open and sometime stupid(sneaking cons uneyed into the enemy tech sector with no one available to respond).

I liked how AZ forced games to stay in range that was similar to what it started, it prevented games to all end up into 30 vs 30. Also, it promoted making more games and I remember that I never joined a game in progress cause there were always one decent sized game waiting to start. Of course, there were far more players, but I'd love more side games.

You know Vly, thats not a bad idea.

I see going back to the old max player limitations as a solution to many problems (which they were probably intended to solve in the first place).

Late game stacking would be less of a posibility because the teams would fill up faster. Players may self segregate more often into respective skill levels (i'm thinking of the newer players finding each other and gaming together more often).

Games may start faster since both coms aren't waiting for 3 or 4 super vets a piece before starting.

New players would get more opportunities to command (like Vly said) and also to not be discriminated against as often (by not being accepted to teams by commanders).

Good idea. I'd like to see it come back now that our community has grown sufficiently. Who knows, newer people seeing 10 or 20 active games on the lobby server might prompt them to think that our game isn't dead and actually play more.

As a new player, just wanted to throw my 2 cents in that I prefer to play games with vets as I feel like I learn faster, trial by fire if you will. I do my best to make sure the vets want me around too. I think playing games with mostly other new players allows you to develop bad habits. That's what works for me, but more games means more options for everyone.
