Yeah. But initiative often kicks in with these games, so things can sometimes get done.

so pretty much, your running their econ for them, your telling them what to do. How is that any different from you just commanding? Or right, your not taking responsibility, and letting the com take all the heat instead of you, if me makes a stupid mistake.

Just com yourself if your going to sit there running his miners, cons, D for him.

Back-seating is an important learning tool for mid-level comms. It allows a competent comm to focus on tactics, a job the commander is best at because of that 'bold chat' GA.

I don't know any commander who wouldn't love to have someone competent micro-manage his miners.

BURN!

When I started out commanding I had people run my miners. Even in big games today I have someone take over my miners. But, you have to learn to run them or you end up like Bacon who ALWAYS has someone run his miners. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

The best way to learn to run an economy is to first learn to destroy one.

If you become an accomplished miner killer, you will know their AI inside and out. With this knowledge you can avoid enemy miner hunters and keep the econ flowing.

i think the process is the other way round: you gotta be raped a couple times by miner hunters while you manage your miners so you understand the points where you can exploit the AI

Well, I take the middle ground: Commanding has made be a better miner hunter, has made me a better commander.
