Why in heavens would Alleg need IRC? It's been established that Allegiance itself is IRC, just with a mini-game.

because not everybody wants to log in and loiter in allegiance, when they can multitask doing it in an IRC channel.

But clearly it's understood that it's hard to pilot a game, be on teamspeak, and have to keep up with the IRC chat.
I have a hard enough time trying to pod WyldKarde in his $#@!in scout. Damn him and prox!

Dont you have to be a vet to make a squad?

No vet wants the hassle of making a squad, only noobs and voobs want to make a squad.

Nope. Anyone with a valid nick can create a squad and if they gather enough active players then they'll get their tag etc. Realistically, by the time you've gathered enough players to form a squad, you'll most likely have lost your newbie number anyway.
Good luck Eagle, if you want to have an entry on the Forming Squads page, please PM it to me. Make sure you check spelling and stuff first though as I'll just place it up as a quote (see Mastrpilot's entry for what not to do /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" /> ).
