Lesson 9: Using the minimap wisely and quickly.
Lesson 10: Knowing your minimap icons
I was using that - I think I've sort of got the idea. Problem is, someone says 'go to [this place]', so I'm hunting around and then I forget where I was supposed to go, and the message had gone /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

I worked a few things out. Not a complete waste of time. Thanks for the tips though.

I'm booked for the academy already. My only real problem is I'm using a Mac, and some of the keyboard shortcuts don't match . . . I'm having a few probs with that, but I'm blundering through them in the training prog.

So far, the wisdom I have earned is thus; don't fire at vets, they come and kill you.

Play on newbie servers to learn to fly, learn to shoot, get a feel for the physics engine.

As soon as you have your ship going in the direction you want it to 80% of the time get into the main server and learn how to play.

As for vets coming to kill you, shooting at them raises your sig which makes you visible which makes you dead. Shoot them in the back.
