Simple - because we want to play Allegiance. Vet players leave this game. If there are no newbs because any new player is so belittled, picked on and abused that they give up then the community dies. Not really the future I'd pick for this game.

Mindraker, being forced to sit and wait for a spot on one team sucks for that person. But being on a team that stands no chance of winning and getting whored again and again and again is no fun for all the people on that team. It sucks but there you go.

hmm i guess u missed the first 4 years of alleg- when the influx of newbs was at a all time low, and games where being played by vets who have been here since day 1. whatcha gonna do when they all go to aa and say screw alleg,,,,,,Id rather lose a few hundred newbs then 1 vet

Haveing to wait for a com to accept you isnt only a newb problem newbs,it happens to every1

Newbs will allways be a problem in alleg cause there new
all vets where newbs at one time or another, and most vets had a harsh upbringing and those are the guys that stick around..cause they have put in the time and taken the abuse!

Im so sorry newbies, if u want a candyland go to wow! keep my alleg free of candylandassssssssssss!

Yes, but you're going to lose the vets over time anyway because people get jobs, have kids, whatever. If you haven't had any newbs stay then that's 1 less Alleg player. Repeat until Thal pulls the plug because there's 3 vets playing a DM at primetime. Newbs are the vets of tomorrow.

We just need a simple 1 page newbie guide, at least to clue the newbies in, then they can go do other things. 1 page newbie quide, quick and simple, easy to find and read, we don't have that yet, something easy, quick. No new person is going to read the crash courses unless they like the game, a 1 page guide they will read hopefully and we woulnd't see this kind of thread.

well raveen losing nab to harrassing a newba- u think thats ok-what if it happens to you,do newbs get banned for telling off vets,no of course not,do they even get a warning i highly doubt it,but i got no facts on that just what i see daily....

newbs of today are vets of tomorrow,, seriously i doubt that, why do u think so many vets sit afk in lobby,, they dont want to play with newbiesssssssssssssss. so u tell me whos game time is being seriously hurt. me i dont care vet or newb both end up in my kb anyways,i just get sick and tired of people telling other people how to treat people! good or bad!

not that thats how it goies usually but raveen how long b4 most vets get sick of what they see everyday! if they arent allready, how many awsome veterans must we lose because of policies to newbs!

Look microsoft let this game go, community picked it up funded it- i dont see no newbs funding it i see vets,,, yet vets get banned for being to hard on newbs, how is that right!

its an age old fight newbs vs vets

suggestion:

@alleg treat every1 equal reguardless of status in the community-

vets treat newbs badly u get the warning and the toss
newbs treat vets badly u get the warning and the toss

seems fair- why isnt it happening stop worrying about losin newbs,i would worry more about losing good players due to bad desicions!

to this day i have not seen one newb banned for violations of the coc! but u look at the ban pages and all u see are vets!

Now im sorry if this offends anyone but its how i feel and see things everyday in this game, i luv my alleg and i luv this community!

HMMM an idea came to me at the end of this post!

can the devs develop something in asgs that only shows a newbie server to newbs and after a certian rank allows them to see the vetran servers, like a leveling system. say they make inter and they get the reward of seeing vet servers!

is that possible

this way newbs get a chance to fly for awhile unharrassed by vets and vets get to fly with no super newbies!

seems to me newbs com onto vets servers get owned instantly for the kb ,,, that dont seem like much fun to get constantly owned everyday, would make me wanna quit! so force them onto a newbie server so they can develop in there own time at there own speed saveing every1 the hassle of this!

thats the only way i see for this problem to go away!

Yes, because newbs never recieve a ban for spamming or anything else...

If you have a specific complaint then of course you should take it up with an @Alleg. Server and time of day is needed to check logs. If a newbie was breaking the RoC then they will be dealt with just like anyone else.

I'm not saying you have to be a total Carebear or whatever, just don't be nasty and give everyone a chance to play. It's not that hard and tbh it's not a million miles from what your squad rules say anyway.

Forcing newbs onto the newbie server is not really fair as there's often only 1 or 2 newbs online. Also they learn better on the vet servers assuming people are being at least a bit helpful.

If you want to start a vet only game then feel free to go to an empty server and set it to No novices. But don't do this in the 'main' game please (based on something Pook said not long ago).

Noobs are a problem. That being said I have seen my fair share of mature ready-to-learn noobs. Currently on my list of noobs who are not worthless POS - Aceofspace, Angela, Freestate (and Mindraker was certainly learning in the last game I saw him in). The list is ever changing cause eventually they not noobs anymore- like sp4wn. However, if you're a 1 or a 0 and feel the need to chat useless questions all game, tell vets 'no' to their orders or otherwise think we have nothing better to do than cater to you, I am going to rip into your nubbin rear end like a wolverine on crack cocaine. Mainly bc I am on crack cocaine...

On the other hand, if I run into a noob who is actually trying and doesnt act like a prepubescent japanese schoolgirl (I'm looking at a shark movie from 1975 directed by steven spielberg) I will be the first person to take them aside and answer questions sit in useless game for 1:30 and let them learn techs and ships. If I don't feel like doing this, guess what? I was a noobie once and went through all the same @#(!. Now that I am a mother $#@!ing squadded goddamn son of a bitch vet I used to despise I have changed my tune. I am an elitist. I don't have to put up with noob @#(!. I don't care about you noobs, life is hard get over it.

Now that the noob question is answered, we have a bigger problem. Pre-voobs. Not quite voobs (since voobs know their place) but not quite noobs. Ppl who just refuse to grow out of taht 'I roxxorz and m teh numb3r 1- 3v3n if u c4nt s33 it!' mentality. They don't follow in game orders believing they actually know what is useful in a game, they post on the forums like their opinion is actually valid and they generally delude themselves into thinking they are somehow human-- or worse, comparable to our glorious vet superiority. They think they are ready to comm, boot pilots, and tell other pilots when theyre wrong. These are the real problem, noobs have an excuse they don't know better but if you're carrying around inter 8 I expect you to (altho you prolly cant shoot worth @#(!) be able to follow orders and attack a probe or be able to deal with trash talk when you comm your team into the abyss.

*I have commed my team into the abyss and took the reaming for it, my reaming even reached teh forums* *I have disobeyed orders- been booted- sulked- gotten over it* *I have been left in the lobby while all the vets play because i have a #* *I have been told to stfu bc what I said was a waste of the community's time* *Some ppl still treat me like this (I'm sure a few of them will even feel compelled to reply to this)*

Guess what, this is how it works. It sux but you either deal or you don't. Quit whining I get tired of hearing it.
