How about 4 Teams with 1 person per team, deathmatches?

Two points,

1) Small games are fun in their own way,

2) The EU server is 100% a good thing for the majority of players; as others have said, it's not unplayable for Americans.

This should move to rant forum... oh wait! /doh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doh.gif" />

In reverse order...

Bomb rushes, even in small games (especially in small games) can be stopped very easily. Learn to probe properly. Learn to camp properly. Seriously, only Giga should have problems surviving against a bomber rush, and they can easily have their tech base planted or bombers of their own up first.

Tactical is at its strongest in small games. Single ships capable of utterly demolishing the enemy economy and expansion, and easily capable of killing the defending pilots unseen and from range. Even bomber runs can be quickly and simply shut down since the few nans available can be picked off relatively easily by Hunter fire. Supremacy and Expansion both scale relatively well with size, as they have tactics that work well both in large and small games. Tac is (by comparison) almost useless in a large game -- it's too easy to camp alephs out and kill anyone who comes in with a weak stealth ship. It is, instead, a companion tech in larger games which can be coupled with another tech to enable a win. You need some sweeper attack ships to clear a path for the stealth ships to slip in.

PS. Once again, learn to probe properly. Seriously, a few good probes would prevent almost everything that is complained about in this thread. Probes are key to smaller games.

Personally I think 10 v 10 games are great, so long as you have at least 8 or 9 people on a side who know how to play.

Anything above 15 v 15 usually sucks, there are way too many scouts flying around and its impossible to do anything other than int whore (and even that kinda sucks - too many people gunning for you and for your targets. Its not really dogfighting so much as getting lucky to get a jump on a guy who's shooting someone else).

It woudl be great if people would play 2 or 3 games on different servers than the 60+ player monstrosity that always happens during prime time.

It gets crappy when you play 10 on 10 and 5 people on your team don't know how to nan.

oookay, running down the list.

thank you gui, now please go gnaw your own leg off.

I understand the time difference with the EU guys but im reffering to latenight for Americans, I'll cover EU playing later.

Grimm, the EU server while giving me a little more lag, has almost no discernable difference from playing on the planet servers. On some days, it is actually BETTER then the planet servers. I actually prefer playing on the EU server, since it gives you guys a better gameplay, and levels the field more.

MrC, its that out of my 10 pilots, 5 of them have a clue. so trying to get people to do what i want, results in 5 people... instead of 10 people, had i about 20 pilots.

Ang. Its all about pilot skill, what you say is all well and fine, now if more then half of my team understands that... well we have something.

again taking, that would be a squadgame... which is great! most PU games are about as intelligent as drowning in your breakfast cereal.
