I'm pretty sure in the Allegiance universe that there were humans who weren't enrolled in the IC military, weren't employees of Gigacorp, weren't members of secret Phoenix underground elite corps, weren't BIOS clones, weren't Rixian or Dregkhlar aliens, weren't space pirate Belters, weren't robot Technofluxers, and weren't.... whatever Ga'Taraan are.
These people would be unaligned.
We can easily work them into the story. If they don't like flying with all the other homeless hobos they can apply to join any of the existing groups and have a home.

Or how bout since we are unaligned hobos wandering through outer space maybe all story important games should have a extra team representing unaligned, so us hobos can do what we do best, being innefectual and annoying till someone either pays us to go away or kills us. because no wars go without interlopers.
