Is there any possiblity of coding in the mouse scroll wheel? Would be really useful if it scrolled whatever list the mouse was over. eg server listing, chat windows, etc. I doubt that anyone DOESNT have a mouse scroll wheel today.

The wheel is use able ingame for boosting, target scrolling etc, but as far as scrolling pages, chat for example, we just use the pg up and pg dwn buttons.

actually, i'm re-releasing this in a day or so, it's going to come in a nifty little installer. so if you don't want to read all that (i went into great detail on how to install it so even a monkey could install it), you can wait a day or so. (its going to have new features too)

Cool thanks mad
I'm still hoping to get more into alleg, but seems like there is only 10-20 ppl on at a time (and 1/2 of those are AFK), counting every server o.0 Some ppl are helpful, some others like today basically just make new ppl not want to bother =P If I dont know it all and arent good enough, might as well diss me and not let me learn =P thats the way to get more players *nods* and being told to go practice with another newb ... am I supposed to ask him how to play? lol. And even then when I tried, just had some bored ppl join the game all on one side and proceed to kill all my bases and stuff while I was still working out how to command/research (3 versus 1 new person ... is that normal for this game?)

Its a great game, but I'm still sitting at (0) as there hasnt been a game with the required 5v5 to record any score for me so was unable to play today because I was only a 'newb' and didnt get accepted on a team.
</rant off> sry lol

It really depends when you play. Euro primetime and US primetime typically see 20 v 20 games. 3am EDT on a weekday typically shows 5-10 players logged in total.

A good way to raise your cred in the game is to join @cadet. Even if you have a (1) next to your name, people see the @CDT tag and know that you're making an effort to learn the game.

I read all the info on the academy site, and I sent a message to the contact stated on the bottom of the cadet info page, but no reply so far. I did have some very good games yesterday with seraphim and some others the day before arcangel etc, only reason I'm still hoping todays effort isnt the norm.
I think for 3 days (a few hours a day) I've done pretty well. I can safely say I'm excellent at scouting / aleph mapping / setting probes in the right places fast and efficiently. Also I've nan'd and taken out bases with a stealth bomber. What I need to work on is dogfighting technique / weapon selection / command researching (which I tried today but had the worst day in alleg ... thanks to those who are so good they'd rather let alleg die off than welcome new players)
So yep read all there was to read, practiced in the game intro training till I never died, attempted the CDT thing waiting for some response. I even had a 40+ KB yesterday, against some -not newb- /vet players. Playing many flight sims/space sims/Homeworld etc helped.

try in the evenings (7 hours from the this the post was posted) for larger games, not many people are usually on in GMT day time, especially mid week. weekends have the most players.

we some times have 60 vs 60 battles.

you shouldn't have to worry about commanding right now, especially on the vet servers (people wont like it is a (#) tries to comm on the ves server).
1 v 3 is very un-usual, but then again, vets dont know hat goes on in the newb server too well (we get automatically banned if we play there)

7 hours from your post would be like 7am for me lolz. Im either about to wake to get ready to go, or just gone to sleep after an allnighter haha. I guess if thats the only time people play, I'm not gonna be able to =/

I only tried commanding to get a feel for it, I even moved servers with 1 other newb for both of us to try commanding. 2 of the bored vets came and joined our game (on the other newbs side - making it 1 v 3 = 1 newb v 1 newb+2 vets) and took out my stuff. We were on a normal (empty) server as the other newb had a ranking of ... something very high -a bug reported by grimm on the admin forum. I had initially tried a 2v2 game on the most populated server (all of 10 ppl ... ) just to wait till more ppl wanted to play. We'd stated very clearly it was a practise game to try out comming since no one else wanted to play, but again, bored vets then decided to stop bitc... erm chatting to each other, and actually play about 15 mins after we started... of course feeling very free to let us know how bad we were comming.

@Clay_Pigeon - I read the cadet info. At the bottom it says if you have a specific questions to PM "Dengaroth" directly on the forums.

I had a specific question, I pm'd him last week. As I said in the response below yours, no reply yet. Is Dengaroth no longer the contact? Who do I need to talk to? (If you know) Thanks =]
