If any of you read this forum, this is to bring to your attention why you were booted.

Allegiance is a team game, and because of this it means that you need to work as a team. You should read the chat, and attempt to listen to what your commander is saying. If you hear a voice yelling "Read The Chat" you should obviously, read the chat, instead of ignoring what one is saying and trying to do whatever you were trying to do.

Us experienced players are here to help you know what win's games, and what doesent. If you had any question about what I had wanted you to do, you could feel free to ask it. Calling me stupid, and telling me to "Shut up" and dont tell you what to do is not a good way to play a game.

(For the admin's, this is my post for the booting of a few #'s in a game earlier today, atleast one of them was afk, and the others were either non-responsive to my attempts to talk to them (In which I gave them more then enough time to respond, or say anything at all, or were plainly rude and attacked me for trying to explain them the game.)

I hope you have fun playing Allegiance,

For not responding to chat at all, and for 2 people, making hostile remarks.

This is allowed in the guidelines.

so you booted them from the main game server because they were telling you to shut up and leave them alone? I'm not sure if I should appluad them or cry over them...

You know, it might just be possible there was a better way to handle this malice. Muting them would have accomplished the same thing, and still let them fly in circles if they so choose. I don't think I've ever heard of someone booting a newbie because they talked back. Hell I talk back all the time to people and dont get booted. This is called the internet, take everything with a grain of salt.

Anyway, yeah whatever. Make sure you PM BV....

Already did, left him this thread as an explanation. Mate, I was booted when I was a newb for not shooting a miner that was close to me. I never missed a miner ever again /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> !

Not that not shooting a miner is justifiable reason to boot a noob, but them refusing to work as a team in a team game, and actively fighting against any organization is indeed grounds for a boot.

The noob server is the place for that behaviour. Im sure allegiance would fall to bits if everyone had the same mentality as those people.

I dont think booting a newbie for not shooting a miner is justifiable. A vet? yes, but a new player no. The learning curve is such that it would be better to explain it to them with strong language why they should/shouldnt do things, rather then apply the boot. not everyone is as aware/smart as everyone else. But hey, i'm just one of many. I don't tihnk ya should have booted them but then, i'm not in charge (god help me for not takin an @alleg spot when offered, te /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />)

8. You may not boot newbies. Anyone with a newbie tag of (4) or less is protected from booting. Exception to this rule: If the newbie is actively working to intentionally destroy the game, and has already been warned via Private Message and All chat, accompanied by the "Read the Chat" voice message. (~yy). Examples of such actions include, but are not limited to:
* moving drones
* moving constructors
* probing exits
* attacking friendly targets with Friendly Fire set on
* not donating paydays to the commander (unless specifically told to stop)
* making hostile remarks

Newbies breaking any of these Rules of Conduct are also subject to booting, as well as any other actions deemed necessary by Free Allegiance Staff.

Read the $#@!ing ROC.

I am very lenient with newbies regarding booting, I think I have only ever booted one.

That one swore at me when I told him he should donate, started investing in SY. I told him to start donating again or he gets booted. He starts donating again but now every time I launch he tries to shoot me although FF was off. I didn't care because we were winning anyway.

I comm the next game too and have him on my team after spending a couple of minutes explaining what he should and should not do. 2 minutes into the game he stops donating, he gets booted.

Now I feel that was justified.

However, is "Shut up" a hostile remark? Is booting a newbie for saying "Shut up" justified? Is booting a newbie for not reading the chat reasonable? Keep in mind that as a newbie they are taking in a lot of information, if they see an enemy ship they will chase it without looking at the chat no matter how many 'yy's you can spam.

I urge you to be somewhat more lenient in the future.
