Massively Stupid Idea For Special Game of Jawsomeness
Unfortunately I cannot place alephs, cause Alleg randomizes that, but I can place rocks.
The map is gonna be hard enough to use as is, because fitting 100 sectors onto the minimap and still making it readable is basically impossible, but I don't want it to be *completely* useless.
But, anyway, all good ideas so far =)

Send it to me and I can stick it on the beta server.
I've never worked with custom maps /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> so send along instructions on where to stick it, let me rephrase that, ... instructions on how to get the server to see the new map (email neuromike@earthlink.net)
I think I only need the line that goes in maps.txt as well as the map (.igc file) itself.
The beta server is pretty much up all the time and you don't need ASGS to log into it.
To get to it you do need the proper registry entry so it finds the correct config file that points you to the beta lobby.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Allegiance\1.0\CfgFile
needs to be set to
http://fazdev.alleg.net/FAZ/FAZ.cfg
versus
http://autoupdate.alleg.net/allegiance.cfg
The current Allegiance.exe will work on the beta server so you shouldn't need to change anything else except the above registry key and when you start Allegiance, don't use the Allegiance Online link (i.e. ASGS link, although you probably can), just double click on Allegiance.exe

Or you can use the two files FreeBeer has already made to switch the registy key back and forth.
All these two files do is change a SINGLE registry key entry.

Thanks BeerFreeBeer wrote:QUOTE (FreeBeer @ Mar 4 2007, 11:25 AM) In case you find it useful (I do) here's the different registry keys I use to switch from the regular Allegiance server, to Faz. This way you don't need to have the FAZ beta installed. Just run the FAZ key and it'll change your registry to have Allegiance point to the FAZ test server lobby. Run Allegiance directly (the .exe in -multi mode if you want) to test. Then run the Regular key to switch back. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />
