Sanch, the bove only apply to DN 4.50
Which is the next phase of your development I suppose- you see there is more than one 'core.' A core is like a version or expansion of the game, some cores are pretty much only used for 'special' games (RPS, EoR) and others pre-date the most recent (and widely regarded best) work done by Noir@XT. DN 4.50 was made by Noir and is used for almost all pickup games so familiarize yourself with it before you try and figure out RPS, GoD, EoR etc.
*Also, it is widely believed that Noir has built exploits into DN 4.50 which only he can access. This is true, therefore if you ever see Noir comm make sure you're on his team /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Noob question: how do I know which bomber has the most scouts?Jonan wrote:QUOTE (Jonan @ Feb 5 2007, 06:47 AM) If a lot of bombers are spamming "need repairs" choose the one that has the most scouts or is withing the fastest reach or gets the endorsement of the commander.
Also, is there any faster way to determine where a given player is than to hit F6?
If not, then tell me if I understand correctly what to do if several different bombers ask for my help simultaneously (and none of them is the commander):
1. Hit F6 and see where each player is.
2. Check the minimap and assess the situation in the respective sectors.
3. Go to the bomber that already has the most support.
Does that sound about right?
well, there are other things to add to that list
4. which bbr is was eyed for the least amount of time
5. which one will you be able to reach soon enough to help
6. Do you know the skill levels of the various bbr pilots
7. which one is encountering the most resistance
Of course explaining all the details of the many things that go into the vet decision making process is not going to help you. when you hit f6 see if there is a vet in base or perhaps in a sector where there is no action (he might be on miner D) and pm him what he thinks- even this could take away crucial seconds. Your best bet- go to the one closest to you (or a rip point).
There is also a target friendly button that may help you locate the nearest pilots at any given time...

How do I find that out? Or is the only way to know to ask the bomber pilot?Jormagund wrote:QUOTE (Jormagund @ Feb 8 2007, 12:52 PM) 4. which bbr is was eyed for the least amount of time

You'll know because whenever youre in base you should look at different sectors and distancs so that you know your own borders boundaries and danger zones... As you get better you will be able to guess who got eyed where and most good vets will announce it for other vets who will be keeping tabs... that is a brief glimpse at the depth of information you're not even getting close to uncovering yet but asking questions and playing to find out are the best thing you can do

Just to simplify things a bit and take the decision process down a notch or two for a newbie.
If You are zipping about in a nanscout and the team starts bombing big time you don't have the luxury of being at base assessing the situation.
QUOTE Check the minimap and assess the situation in the respective sectors.
Go to the bomber that already has the most support.
which one will you be able to reach soon enough to help[/quote]
All other variables are, in my opinion, secondary.
More often than not even eyed bomber runs would just work if everyone not absolutely crucial is on the nantrain. Very few tech can stop a bomber with 10+ nans period. Minimap will tell you, basically, which bbr has the most support by showing you the number of scouts in that sector.
When the "need repairs" spam starts, the bbr is still usually either by a rip or a base. You don't have much time. Stupid drivers take the bbr through to enemy sector with one nan without ever checking F6 and noticing the whole team is podded. Then they bitch about no support when they get podded while there's half a dozen nans trailing them one sector behind.
Don't waste your time on a number running a bomber. Let him scream for attention and die a humiliating death.
Note to future comments that I'm talking about a pickup game with everyone having their own agenda and not squad game goodness of which I have no experience.
Jorma, stop being constructive.

Exception to a rule of thumb. Rule of thumb here being, the more nans the better. Also getting squished like bug on a capships windhield while entering aleph will render nans useless. As will being defended by equal numbers to nans, as will many, many things.
