The intro video and the way more easier and configurable setup of your preferences looks really cool.

But I cant reinstall my mods!!

Any advices at how to put 'em back? I have the offline package, so I have the stuff already, I just installed it for like 3x and it didnt work. :glare:

You know this is the 2nd time, that whoever introduced the changes did this. Its kinda annoying that whenever ppl push new things, I have to work my *#$@ around to get everything back.

How hard is it to push around the new things without touching the already installed mods ppl already have?

Steam does this to files that steam thinks are "owned" by the game.

You should be able to replace them in the artwork directory, no idea why that wouldn't work.

Alternatively, a few months ago I introduced a different method to install mods and make sure they do not get overwritten on an update. Take a look at the "Modding" tab in the configuration in-game to point you in the right direction. If that is unclear let me know and I'll try another write up.

I know this was explained the first time this happened.

I did this last time and it worked fine. Now it simply doesnt. I install my mods and they dont apply into the game (maybe because we have more than one HUD?)

I tried your modding alternative and it didnt work. I created the folder, and installed the mod (because the offline package wont let me install anywhere else except the artwork folder), copied the files to the mod directory, but my game is still with the default HUD. Care to explain a bit more in details what should I be doing? I am no expert modder, and the little I know about editing, is that all I needed to do, was replace the files.

I'll take a look tomorrow. Do you know where I can find these mods to give it a try myself?

index...showtopic=70252

Its somewhere around page 4/5. I use the offline package because it contains all the old mods into a simple installer.

Which mods specifically do you use?

I can get ThinGauge to work without any issues. I don't know why you aren't able to, maybe you are using the wrong files to overwrite?

Steps:
Download the files as a zip from this post index...st&p=704307

Go to the in-game configuration screen, to the modding section and check the file "Mod directory" path.

Unpack the downloaded zip to this path so that it looks like [install dir]/Mods/ThinGauge/__.mdl

Restart allegiance

Check the modding section on the configuration screen again and make sure that ThinGauge is listed under the "Found mods". If not, you put the files in the wrong directory. If it is, ThinGauge should be loaded when you play.

ThinGauge, the man(since I forgot how to edit the mdl files to remove the reticle at all) and the gatt sprite.

Ok following this steps I managed to make them all working. Thank you.
But oddly enough I had to manually install them one by one, if you go with the offline package (wich forces you to install the mods directly into the artwork folder) they wont work.

Is there any chance the installer is pointed at an old installation directory?

Nope, thats the funny thing. The installer only lets you install the mods into the Allegiance/Artwork folder.

It wont install unless you point it to the correct directory. I don´t remember if you can "fool" him by creating one though.
