Donald Trump
I do like how trump cut off oil and money flow to Iran. Money used to create proxy wars in Yemen and Syria. The trade war with China is also punishing china. The Golden age of export, since China entered the WTO in 2001 is over. Again an adversary using unfair trade practices and using the money to take over the south China Sea. Funny how China wanted to recruit EU to join in the trade war against the u.s. but actually it seems to be quite the opposite.

I still don't get why people wouldn't want to have universal health care. It really is a blessing for everybody. It is bad enough to be sick, but to worry about the medical cost as well as the job perspectives... (Of course we also have paid sick leave for six weeks in Germany; after that you get 60% from the insurance for another 6 months; then you get money from social services)Ryujin wrote:QUOTE (Ryujin @ Jul 30 2018, 08:57 AM) At least Trump is ending the havoc of 17 years of Obamacare.

come on, really? QZ (aka the Atlantic iirc?) is quite biased in my experience. the economic doomsdaying seems to be based on cherry-picking the facts that portray this in a bad light. I prefer this NYT article (also known for its leftward lean right?) https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/27/busi ... y-gdp.html

ryu that is not helpful, it's the same data we already discussed previously. GDP growth during Obama's term was good but largely attributable to post-recession stimulus.
Brood, how about https://www.economist.com/united-states ... omicgrowth
QUOTE Yet the figures are not to be scoffed at. Analysts were pleasantly surprised by the composition of growth, which appeared to be fuelled by American shoppers buying cars, clothing and footwear, as well as paying for housing and health care. Using a smoother measure of growth, which compares quarterly GDP with the same quarter a year ago, the economy still grew in the second quarter by a healthy 2.8%. If growth for the year as a whole reaches 3%, as the president has boldly predicted, few forecasters would be shocked. In April the IMF forecast growth of 2.9%; the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) went for 3.3%.[/quote]
it appears opinions differ between The Economist and Fox authors... i'd personally side with TE. that said, you pulled out a sensible Fox article on Trump policies - impressive.

After Trumps Soya and EU speech, like I made sure the EU buys more soya from the Rep farmers, I started to think...
Watching the webcam from the local "The Morning Grind" radioshow from Saugatuck MI, I realized many citizens seems to worry about local issues most. I think Trump has become an entertaining reality show for the people to relax after a hard day working. Like MTV's Catfish, a great way to boooo. Or a superbowl match were you can cheer for your team.
It's all entertainment, Trump doesn't really hurt the local citizen. Trump does not help the local issues. Trump is a thing far away.

Like I've been saying for almost 2 years now, Trump is the most entertaining President ever.
