I am not sure if anybody still knows Schwarzalb_GB. He was a Borg in the early 2000s. He was semi-active during that time, but was very interested in design and when it came to designing the GB logo, he got working and it got chosen as the official design for the GB (it is still my badge).
For the last 15 years, he knew that he had brain cancer. Nine years ago it transformed in to the worst kind stage iv brain cancer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glioblastoma). He kept fighting it for 9 years. He married, bought a house together with his wife, played many sessions of role playing games (e.g. Ars Magica together with Myotis from Steel Fury and a few friends and me). He tried to make most out of a @#(!ty situation and fought back every set back. He was on Chemo for eleven years, he received radiation therapy, he was operated on.
His motto was "Tumor ist wenn man trotzdem lacht" ("Tumor is when you laugh anyway"), a play on "Humor is when you laugh anyway". He really lived it.
Two days ago, it was enough and his live ended peacefully in his bed, surrounded by friends, his wife and his family.
I will miss him dearly.
Rest in peace, Schwarzalb_GB

o7 you can't win every fight but that doesn't mean you don't try.

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.

Sad to hear this, even if I think he stopped playing before I joined GB.

The history of open-source Allegiance is paved with the bodies of dead code branches, forum flame wars, and personal vendettas. But a community remains because people still love the game.
