Can't Get Steam Allegiance Mods to Work

O.K. so I copied my old reticle "centeroutbmp.mdl" to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Allegiance\Artwork. I also copied the files for Thin Gauge that Paps showed me about halfway down the page here: index...80&start=80 to the same folder.

I went into a game I started on a server and the default HUD was there. Also, my reticle was wasn't showing up (o.k. dumb question, but I was targeting friendly miner, shouldn't it still show up?)

I'm wondering if the CORTUI integration changes the way the HUD files are accessed.

Any help would be ...well...helpful.

Did you try escape-o-h to cycle through the installed reticles?


Reticle won't show up for targeting friendly unless you have nan equipped and are in range.

escape-o-h cycled me through the installed HUDS. However, my "Thin Gauge" HUD is not there. I would think replacing the files to my artwork folder with "Thin Gague" files would have made the "Normal" HUD = "Thin Gauge" HUD.

Perhaps the "Normal" HUD files have been renamed or moved. The following is a list of files I replaced:

Shouldn't replacing these in Artwork folder change the default HUD?

Also, I checked the nan training mission which I believe should display any mods made and my reticle is still the default.

Any thoughts?

First, always put alternate textures in artwork/Textures/ (Capitalization matters), not overwriting /artwork/ files.
Secondly, ask again on the #Textures channels on Discord, nobody except me looks at the forum regularly.
I can't pay attention right now, I'll come by discord and help later.

For the beta, the method of including textures has changed, though the old method still works.

o.k. Beta Release worked! I like having the mod folder! Well done! I started messing with Thin Gauge but ended up liking Parci - never flew it before but it is nice! Only issue is Allegiance does not seem to remember it and defaults to "software" HUD when I start - but I can just set it in the lobby.

So now I am working on mapping my controls. BTW...I have always sucked, but when did they change the practice arena tutorial so that a bomber and bunch of scouts start dropping a @#(!load of prox and whore my a$$ rotten?! Well, I definitely need practice! Thanks again devs...nice work!

Oh, and I had one other issue that I thought was my old eyes, but am beginning to wonder...I have issues even at lower resolutions with the text in game. Loadout text is fine. Chat is so-so. But aleph names, ship names, and other text on the screen looks washed out and pixilated. May be my old Radeon graphics cards - but it should still be able to handle this old game. Am I really the only one that has this issue?
