ok, here's the situation.
my friend got a cumputer from his father.
this computer has two hardrives installed. (C:\)=10 GB, and (F:\)=60 GB
now XP is installed on C:\ and a handful of other programs have it completely filled (he constantly get a low memory message)
I'm assuming that it's the virtual memory sucking the few mb left up, but that's not the problem...
He has other games that installed and run fine on F:\, but when he runs the allegiance setup he gets an error message
(I'll edit the post later to put error message here, but i figure someone might be able to answer the questions without it)
Is this because alleg is defaulted to install to C:\?
Is it possible to alter this in any way?
Or does anyone know if he can transfer his OS to F:\? (he insists it's not possible but I have to assume it is)
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I think he'd really like the game...
Thanks.
is this possible?
I had an idea, it didn't work. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

n.b. I may not see a forum post replied to me or a pm sent to me for weeks and weeks...
You should be able to select where it installs. Did you use F: and then get an error? We'd probably need to see the error message in that case.
You can't just transfer an OS. Well I'm sure it's technically possible but would be extremely difficult and you definitely would not want to attempt that. There is software to resize partitions so you could take some of the space from F: and move it to C:. You can also change the default windows install location and other stuff like that through the windows registry, but you may not want to modify that unless you know what you are doing since bad things can happen if you make a mistake.
Edit: yes meant to include that if the C: is filled up completely and you don't already have the .NET framework, which is required for Allegiance, then your friend would have to clear some space on C: or resize the partition to make it bigger. Allegiance can be installed anywhere but the .NET framework needs to be installed on the same drive as Windows.
Edit again: yeah can't resize partitions if they are in fact two separate drives.
