I haven't played this in forever, kinda glad to see it still around, I mention it a lot to people who are interested in space games.
The graphics, though. They aren't really that bad? Why do people complain about it?!
Allegiance could be wire frame graphics and still be good as far as I'm concerned.

Might try to get back into it here in the future but I've been really busy and not sure if ill just end up rubbing people the wrong way again if I do get back into it (I get really emotionally invested in games and freak out when a game is going badly) Also the community is really small and been around forever and tight knit here so I just kinda bounce off the weave, it's hard to get into without being a really specific kind of personality.

A character, sure, but probably more of the notorious variety. I can't even remember why, and don't know if I want to remember... :P

Heya, thanks
How have things been around here lately?

I want to get some of my friends to try this game but tbh it's kind of out of their preferred genre for most of them, and you know how reluctant people can be to try something new, even if it's completely free, they are all mentally invested in other games.
There is one, though, Xizzdot may try it some day, I bet she would end up being a top player or something, seriously. They did play Darkspace and got showered with credits for being super helpful in a supply & repair freighter.

One other friend likes space and astronomy and stuff, but they're more into building ships and staging missions, aka kerbal space program, so dunno how I could convince them either to just try what we have here.

Most people I have try this game who finally do try it end up running into a lot of little hitches, and get overwhelmed by the interface and controls, and so often quit before they even have a chance to really enjoy the depth that the game provides, it's a bit of a dwarf fortress effect; incredibly deep game, but extremely offputting at first.

I don't want to see Allegiance dumbed down, but I would like to see some way to ease new players into it, adding a few layers of complexity at a time.
