I was in Hollywood when this went down. I step out of the office at about 9:30pm, and am like "WTF is with all the police and helicopters?"
I just figured it was a movie premier and walked back to the hotel.
Then I see this in the bar the next night:

So, I was apparently 10 minutes late to the bum rush.
The next night, the whole area was swarming with cops and news vans. I mean SWARMING. There was a newsie on every slightly famous corner trying to interview people or doing pickup shots. They (the newsies) were just creaming themselves hoping for a repeat, but no such luck.
The locals were all saying it was related to the trial, but I think it was just general stupid in action.

If he left the gun in his car, Martin would be still alive. Everbody know it

there's a lot of what ifs. What if zimmerman didn't follow martin around. Then none of this would have happened. I can understand why people are upset about that part of it, because in that sense zimmerman contributed to Martin's death.
The problem is, we have no idea what happened during the confrontation. If Zimmerman started an altercation, than sure he should go down for murder. But what if martin threw the first punch, jumped on zimmerman, and started pummeling him? In that case, Martin's the one in the wrong.
The problem is, we just don't have the evidence to prove one version of events over another. What the evidence DOES show, is that at the time of the discharge of the firearm, Martin was on top of zimmerman, punching him in the face and zimmerman's head was bouncing off the concrete. In that situation, I dont think any reasonable person can dispute that zimmerman had a right to exercise deadly force in self defense.
