Might be because in Alleg we're used to being the ship rather than the pilot.

You dont think by the time people are flying fighters in space, there would be a way to develop a camera/headset system that removes the cockpit clutter?
I'm following the development of SC closely, and hoping a handful of Alleg veterans will have some presence over there! Alleg is mentioned a few times on their forums, and I bump it and send people this direction whenever appropriate.
