I probably will only get a ps4 for Gran Turismo 7, as GT 6 will likely be released for both PS3 and 4 that will be a long time away. I barely do consol gaming anymore, if I didn't have a proper gaming computer, I might be more interested in these consols, but nothing beats the interface of a mouse and keyboard.
Things like always online will stop me from ever buying that consol, the times that I play my ps3 most are when I am without internet.
I think the direction these guys are taking are creating a huge market for systems like the OUYA, Steambox and other less expensive more pure gaming systems.

Well the kinect got some really cool upgrades. Supposedly the camera on it can take your pulse by measuring pigment/infrared changes on your face.

Who the balls cares. I've lived life just fine so far without a computer checking my pulse while I play a freaking video game.
Not interested at all in the One so far. Depends on the exclusive game lineup. As of now I'm just gonna stick with PC gaming this generation.

i think this thread is much more informative than whatever caddy posted.
Some of these do sound like they could be pretty cool if developers decide to use them in interesting ways, but i've never really been tempted away from my PC to begin with since as shiz said nothing beats mouse keyboard and joystick
Seriously this retard wants a touchpad? Talk about useless features. The tying the game to your account is something that already happens with steam and I'm fine with that, as long as one can use it if they log into someone else's like steam.
Overall I'm sure they've done their research and the vast majority of people I know have the standard hooked to TV thing going on so tying everything together is a good idea for them. i'm sure some ad content will be like: "Hey, we see you've been watching xxx! We think you would like game yyy." So more market revenue etc. Still gonna be stickin with the PC

All you need is a cane and a social security check which got deposited 3 days late to complain about.
I do this. And it's the main reason not to buy an XB1 IMO. For a few hundred quid I can build a PC that can compete with the XB1 and PS4.Psychosis wrote:QUOTE (Psychosis @ May 22 2013, 02:53 AM) Sadly shiz, there is a movement towards using controllers on your gaming pc, because so many big titles are straight ports of console games anyway...
In fact I pretty much already have, sure my graphics card is a bit sub par but it's silent which is what I wanted it for.
The whole setup may have costed more but I have all my TV, DVDs and Blu Rays copied to the HDD(s), 4 TV tuners for recording or live viewing, access to catchup services and the option of Netflix/LoveFilm, Skype for calls to the family and Steam for games. Add an XB360 controller and you're good to go. It's not suited to traditional PC gaming but it's more than adequate for a quick blast at a console port and that's what I want right now.
Any extra cost is more than compensated by the extra functionality and reduced game prices. I haven't paid >£40 for a game in years, if ever. And thanks to Steam I don't have to.
I think the console, in the traditional sense may be coughing up its lungs. I have owned consoles since N64 and was there opening day for the first XBox but can't be assed to go to store day one for any of the new systems since the piss errr Wii. Steam's online catalogue is where I go now for a game even though I tend to enjoy a controller over the keyboard mouse interface.
I paid retail for XCom UFO something something for the console and wanted to punch someone in the face after about five hours of game play. I bought Starseed pilgrim for the PC and wandered off after less then thirty minutes. Both were a waste of my money and time. ($#@! you pretentious twats like Joe Blow for sucking me in with the mysterious this is the best game evah bull@#(!. This was some half backed idea months from being ready to sell but I digress). I played UFO whatever the $#@! much longer, hated it waaaaaaaaay less but felt stung more by it.
maybe it was the higher cost, or the more commercial feel, or my expectations are higher because I buy it in a store all shrink wrapped up.
I am way more likely to dump my money down the game rat hole, something I do less and less now, on a whim while sitting in my Howard The Duck underoos then while shopping at a brick and motar. This is from an admitted Amish gamer

So evidently the Xbox one can rely on a new cloud infrastructure for some of its processing power. Things that dont need to be updated real-time like lighting, fluid dynamics, object physics will be calculated by the pooled power of the new data center they built, and beamed to the device.
Neat!
