I also remember there is a lot of soul-searching on Dany's part before she pulls the trigger. I don't think she had her mind made up when she offered the dragon.
Perhaps the slavers were pretty confident that attacking them would be tantamount to suicide in the long term (given what follows), so didn't mind handing over their entire military.... but I don't know if that's brought up in the book. It's certainly not there in the show.
BTW, I have no idea wtf they are doing with Theon.

Having seen two episodes of the last season I must say I'm loving it to bits. Shae & Tyrion have excellent scenes full of character, and Margery Tyrell is much better than in the books. Now she feels like a descendant of the queen of thorns should. Awesome stuff
Te duel of Jaime and Brienne was horribly poor though. Where is the coreography we saw when Jaime fought Ned?!?

I think it was fairly realistic. You can´t expect that a man that has been chained for months, (probably) poorly fed, no combat practice for months, not much physical activity inside a cage, and with both hands tied, magically become a powerful, dancing swordsman.Adept wrote:QUOTE (Adept @ Apr 29 2013, 06:50 PM) Te duel of Jaime and Brienne was horribly poor though. Yep...Wonder how much of that is the actor (as opposed to the script)Adept wrote:QUOTE (Adept @ Apr 29 2013, 04:50 PM) and Margery Tyrell is much better than in the books.

I'd say all of it - Natalie Dormer has a very unsettling beauty about her, the kind that would start wars in ages past.Spunkmeyer wrote:QUOTE (Spunkmeyer @ Apr 30 2013, 02:34 PM) Yep...Wonder how much of that is the actor (as opposed to the script)
“Life,” the belgian agri observed, “is a long dialogue with imbeciles.’’

Jaime is supposed to be one of the top handful of fencers in the world... and more importantly so is Brienne. For anybody who has done actual swordplay, and compared to some of the stuff in earlier seasons that was pathetically bad.MonAG wrote:QUOTE (MonAG @ Apr 30 2013, 03:44 PM) I think it was fairly realistic. Nah. She has unusual looks, which is cool, but it's a combination of the clever re-writing and good acting that brings the character to life.tsubaki_sanjuro wrote:QUOTE (tsubaki_sanjuro @ Apr 30 2013, 05:59 PM) I'd say all of it - Natalie Dormer has a very unsettling beauty about her, the kind that would start wars in ages past.
As for her looks, google her up. Looks like you have to spray her with a mister to get her to stop doing the duckface

They did a good job with Olenna Tyrell too. In the books she is just an annoying hag (IIRC)Adept wrote:QUOTE (Adept @ Apr 30 2013, 10:06 AM) Nah. She has unusual looks, which is cool, but it's a combination of the clever re-writing and good acting that brings the character to life.
It was also pretty funny how Cersei and Tywin pronounce Tyrell completely different in the same exchange.

Nah in the book Olenna had ALL of the brains, they delegated some of those to Margery.Spunkmeyer wrote:QUOTE (Spunkmeyer @ Apr 30 2013, 11:27 AM) They did a good job with Olenna Tyrell too. In the books she is just an annoying hag (IIRC)
