Tell me someone else watched this pilot? Epic proportions of epic in one episode. Really hoping it lives up and I get a new Firefly on my hands

I've even played the game, too.

Considering picking it up for 360...

Yeah, I caught it, thinking "What, Sci-Fi on SyFy? No way!"

Perhaps it will be really good and cancelled after 14 episodes

Well im 50mins into the pilot and it's pretty @#(! for me atm. It's like Deadwood with aliens but much @#(!tier characters who are transparent as hell. It freaks me out that they are trying to do the dual language thing as well, it worked in firefly as it was mainly for cursing and the odd phrase but switching from sentence to sentence for different languages just seems so fake.

Need to take a break from it will watch rest later and hope it gets better, im just sad I got hyped up a bit but I should learn not to trust manky opinions.

Sharpy give it until the end of the first episode. As much as there is some cardboard issues, I find the plot and dialogue fun and entertaining. The action scenes are also quite tasty

You mean like when they got snuck up by a alien biker gang, how $#@!ing deaf do you have to be???
Or when the scary bugs who move really really fast in the woods come and attack, and attack by gently walking up to the guy.....
Or the knife "fight" 'don't cut yourself!' "the only thing I will be cutting is you!' witty dialogue and repartee.
The "fight club", only made me think is it supposed to be an homage to Dr McNinja

The bath scene is hilarious for it's stupid stupid writing and trying to explain the obvious plot to a stupid person (which makes sense for audience members who wait to watch a 2nd episode)

Still yet to watch the 2nd half but if it's as @#(! or worse then the 1st half (how can it get worse?) I will hunt you down in Allegiance Spawn if you ever play again, I will make your life hell! I will be outside your red door, I will be waiting on the other side of the aleph, I will follow your 10kb pod all the way to your base and then blow it up, and should we be on the same team I will follow you around and drop probes in your face and ram you through alephs!

The setting is pretty @#(!ty, like a crappy cross between Earth Final Conflict, Babylon 5 and your average post apocalyptic movie and the plot was very meh.

But the FX were fine save for the odd low-budget CGI bit, most characters decent (the bad guys are very 2D though, and the deputy should just be put out of his misery) so I wouldn't mind taking a peek at the second ep.
