Hi

Just re-installed Allegiance on new computer (windows 7). Thought of playing around with LAN server in case of an opportunity to lure some unsuspecting players on the upcoming LAN to take a look at the game. Now, installation was fine and I can see the server but when I try to join it complain of server being out of date:
"The server you are trying to connect to is out-of-date. Find another server or contact the server's owner and tell them to auto-update by connecting to the zone match-making service. If that doesn't work, have the server's owner try deleting the file 'filelist.txt' fom the install directory and restarting the server."

I have tried using the Local connection in ACSS, the local allegiance.exe in the production folder, the allegiance.exe in the BETA folder but all with the same result. I also tried various combination of running the server and alleginace as "adminstrator".

I think I had this problem before but I don't remember how we fixed it.
There is no filelist.txt file that I can find by the way.

Any suggestions?

Think there is no "official" file for R6 server in the download section.

Try:

http://www.freeallegiance.org/forums/index...2&hl=server

Don´t know if link is still active.

Ok I tried that file and now I crash the server instead. I don't know if it is the old "IPV6" issue. Öast entry in log is:

03/13 17:39:03.748 Timer: 0.110000s spent between iterations in ReceiveThread loop, 3.610000s total (longest so far)
03/13 17:39:27.999 New connection ID: 440ec17 IP: fe80::24:3af9:a101:feb2

Hm..it should only crash on IPv6 when you are trying to join the game, not on server or game start. Is that's what's happening?

Want bigger games? Log on to play at the official game time: 9pmET/8pmCT/7pmMT/6pmPT every day of the week. Also Saturdays 8pm UTC.

What Spunky said... That's the message when a player joins a game.

Code: Select all

03/12 16:07:37.505 New connection ID: 4186eb62 IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
03/12 16:07:37.658 New ship (player): Name=+pkk@HQ(0), ShipID=89, PilotType=10
You have to disable IPv6:
