It might be if it was the first thing dealing with that that ive read. But it wasnt, and it wasnt even done well. I mean, do you go read shakespeare all the time because of originality or whatever?

If i hadnt heard so many people gushing over the book, and it wasnt so short, then I would have abandoned ST before i finished it. There is so much better out there, even in scifi

Enders game is a great read . For the yoof I recommend Stephen Donaldson's Gap series + anything by Peter F Hamilton if ya'll like reading some classy Space Opera .

Hamilton can't write a single likeable character into his books. He would be ok if not for that, and turning every story into a 1000+ page tome.

I always thought it was, but then Wikipedia suggests the Lensman series was the first. Whaddya know?

As a teen, I loved those books. Scared to read them again incase I realise they were crap.

if you just read ender's game, i hope you enjoy both of the series that split off... one for ender/val and one for bean/peter.
