It looks like the cops put at least two or three clips (depending on caliber) into that truck, without even verifying their target. That is some sloppy, sloppy, sloppy police work.
Not to mention they shot at least two clips at the damn truck and didn't even kill who they were firing at. Luckily their incompetence has saved the lives of innocent people.

so perhaps being fired at is enough justification to shoot at whoever was shooting at the cops
and enough justification for why they might have not been able to hit him
also please note that not one-shotting some copicidal maniac who has stated and demonstrated that he will kill you and your colleagues does not usually equate to "sloppy, sloppy, sloppy police work" - that usually consists of flirting with victims of crime, not investigating burglaries properly or being caught discussing uganda with colleagues.

No, the cops shot up a truck with two women in it delivering newspapers, and shot up/ran off the road at least one other for no reason whatsoever except for it being a "blue truck".tsubaki_sanjuro wrote:QUOTE (tsubaki_sanjuro @ Feb 13 2013, 06:48 PM) apparently dorner was shooting at them whilst being chased in his car
I think they pulled a similar stunt with a 3rd blue truck, too.
None of these trucks had anything whatsoever to do with Dorner, they just happened to be trucks, and blue.
then they burned this cabin he was allegedly in to the ground with him in it, of course lying and saying that they weren't the cause of that
it only took a second for the actual police communication to hit the web because any idiot with a smartphone can listen in on the police band

apparently burning people to death is what we pay the police force to do, at their own discretion
how is the LAPD any different from a street gang? oh yeah. they get paid out of our taxes.

I couldnt say I was particularly rooting for anyone in this, other than for it to go on for longer. The shooting incidents of completely random people vaguely fitting his description serves as a wakeup call for the people other than the ones the LAPD and other large city police departments continually harass that corruption and incompetence is still alive and kicking.

also please stop with the "how outrageous this is" bollocks, the bloke shot dead the daughter of a cop and her fiance, shot two other cops from a force that he had no beef with at all by walking up to the car and shooting them without warning, had just shot colleagues of the people surrounding the house he was holed up in, and he was apparently shooting out of the house at the chaps outside. the local sheriffs - not the lapd - would have been well within their rights of self-defence to $#@!ing call an airstrike on the *#$@, never mind throw some potentially dangerous tear gas cannisters at him.

**** you dude. Seriously. He was killing people with families and kids and lives outside of work, and you hoped that it would go on longer. What a great person you are.Broodwich wrote:QUOTE (Broodwich @ Feb 14 2013, 12:26 AM) I couldnt say I was particularly rooting for anyone in this, other than for it to go on for longer. The cops going up to the blue trucks were likely scared out of their minds. I and everybody else I've ever worked with in law enforcement would have been terrified about getting killed. Cops are just people doing a job. They are NO different than the people you work with at your job with the same problems, same wants in life, same fears, etc. etc. They made a bad decision, but can you blame them given the situation? How would you have handled that situation? There's a car matching the description of a car belonging to a guy better trained than you who wants to kill you and has a rifle. Put yourself in their shoes, and then remove any possibility of calling the cops to deal with it because you *are* the cops. It doesn't excuse what they did, but have some goddamn empathy.
That comment absolutely disgusts me. I don't even have the right words.
