Ryjamsan... you do realise this is an international forum, right?

The strike on Pearl Harbour was a perfectly legitimate strike, as far as any act of war can be so called. The retaliation by firebombing Tokyo on the other hand is a classic war crime. Honestly, if you think USA are the pure hearted white hats of WW-II I recommend you take a more critical look at history.

Yes, I'm sure it's a day to remember for the US military and politicians. It's something to remember and learn from, but it's not a huge traumatic event for humanity that should be remembered as some horrible atrocity. I was a well executed opening act for a long battle for supremacy, and one that the great Japanese admiral Jamamoto knew would not end well for his nation. The industrial capacity of the USA was just too great.

Adept... Ryj said four words.

While it may not be as huge of a deal as many make it out to be, it was a very critical date in international history. It affected everyone. It may not be some horrible atrocity, but it was important nonetheless. Really, think about the world today if it hadn't happened.

It amazes me that as Fuz points out, its four words, "let us not forget" I dont get polictical or place blame on any side. I simply ask that we not forget a day that thousands lost thier lives. If you want to get into a debate about right or wrong and the cause and effect of the war then find another post to debate that which has been debated over and over.

Again my point......."let us not forget" Which will have meanings to each person and nationality

US would have sat at home for most of WW2, probably coming into the end for kill stealing.

You were better of letting fuzz leave it. When you specifically say, not to forget a day that thousands lost their lives well then there are lots more dates in the last century which qualify for that then Pearl Harbour attack

Then feel free to make a post on the 71st aniversary to those events. My post is simply about this day
