I've had a few bourbons so ill just blurt out @#(! with a little gravitas for aftertaste.

I typed a 700 word essay but decided it wasn't worth your $60 of venture capital.

As a result of what I see as a great money making scheme am going to spend 30k getting a chinese modelling company to render some star wars combat sequences (actually, ill pay weed) and the find lawrence holland (and offer him 50% of the capital raising) to endorse it to get people to donate to fund a project which has no kpi's to deliver and then take a trip to the bahamas and buy a big motor yacht.

Seriously though, just lower expectations though so whatever happens, you feel like a winner...or at best, an innovator who helped changed the space sim genre forever. Not the other way round.

Back to my bottle of courage and @#(! spinning

You have absolutely no idea what your argument even is, dude. All's I'm saying is that it's cool that this game is being made. I have no idea if it's gonna be good, but I'm hopeful that it'll be a great game. If it isn't, that sucks, too bad, it was worth a $60 gamble.

You do realize that's all it is, right? It's a gamble. It's like going to the casino. I'm putting up some money in hopes of getting something back. I put up such a small amount that if I get nothing back, life goes on.

Also, you could look at it as people pre-ordering a game based on the genre and the developer. Do you spit in the face of people that pre-order games? What are you even trying to say?? Chris Roberts has a name and a history of making good games. This isn't like a bunch of people just gave "some guy" nobody has ever heard of $6.5 million. Hell, he's already showed off in-game videos of what they have so far. It looks cool. I hope he keeps it up, so I pledged $60 to pre-order the game in hopes that he'll make a fun game. Jesus. It's not that crazy of an idea. Sounds like you're just a drunk @#$%@#. IMHO.

And funding it this way gives Roberts (and Braben) way more freedom to get the project done the way they want it done, rather than having a bigger software giant cracking the whip and making decisions on tone and content.

Kickstarter is utterly brilliant.

Just bumped into GreyVulpine in RSI live chat. Yes, the one who used to play alleg.

I don't know which guilds/clans/squadrons you guys are considering, but the one I'm interested in LAMP has at least two other Alleg/former allegiance players in.

Looking forward to seeing some old faces in a new game. Look me up sometime once the alpha/beta comes out.

That's why I signed up as a potential member ;)

But I'm in early and already doing some administration of the squad, so I should be fairly important in the squad when the game launches if I stick with them.

+When the question of "What space games should we play while we wait for SC" I helpfully mentioned this one :)

Sorry for the necropost but who is planning on playing star citizen and who has already pledged? I got a hornet now but I am willing to spring for a constellation if I can get some old school alleg gunners in my turrets and agri in the interceptor in its belly ;)

I registered as MadDutch so lemme know if you have a nice squad and need a halfway decent player.
