You should probably be posting these things on their forums - Roberts reads those ones, I'm not so sure he reads these!

Chris Roberts, doing an AMA. Can one of you who's on reddit ask if he's heard of / played allegiance and is familiar with its flight model and how it keeps real flight physics fun.

We should do a real push for the thing. Him and his devs should totally try the Allegiance flight model... or at least see some good video about what it's like.

Now where is that footage AEM shot of the 5 vs. 5 death matches?

This doesn't look so promising in terms of space drag, but it doesn't rule out side thrusters
redditor wrote:My favourite part about Independence War 2 was that you could turn off the flight computer's compensation. It would no longer simulate drag, help stop your turn, etc. I would speed up full blast, turn off the computer, spin my ship sideways and strafe a larger vessel.
roberts wrote:This will be all possible in SC. BTW there is no simulated drag in SC, but the ship's fly by wire systems try to keep the ship heading in the requested heading at the requested speed.

That's some user comment in a thread about the site being back. http://www.bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?...4&id=800285

I don't think overall it will be our dear "Quake in space", but maybe it can be replicated in multiplayer matches.

I'm almost sure the combat is going to be much more like Freelancer then Allegiance, it has the tracking guns unlike Alleg's fixed mounts, I won't be surprised if all ships have targeting leads as well.
