The apologetista for Israels policies and actions would probably have defended South-Africas government back in the day. It seems amazing to me, but there were tons of people defending the apartheid, and going on about how the whites of the country were just doing what they had to do.

It is time that you now lobbed for the blockade on Cuba to be lifted.

But I do not hear of Flotilla ships coming to their rescue. I wonder why?

Are you kidding? Of course the stupid blocade ahould be lifted. Still, the regional bully is not actually bombing Cuba back to the stone age, unlike is done in Gaza. The blocade of Cuba is stupid, but not nearly as destructive as the systematic oppression of the Palestinians.

1. Because Cuba has a sovereign and legitimate government.
2. Cubans aren't really as much in need of "rescuing" as the Palestinians.
3. The fact that the Cuban people are being oppressed by their government doesn't have the same ramifications on regional relations as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
4. There is a difference between an embargo and a blockade.

Let me reiterate as I think you're making this point AGAIN, just because activists focus on one particular case of human rights abuse over another doesn't mean they aren't committed to the struggle for human rights for everyone as a whole.

+1

Honestly, this shouldn't be so hard to understand. It seems more like that particular logical fallacy is trotted out when people don't actually want to debate the issue, but to derail the discussion with rhetorical trickery.

I have not seen Cuba fire rockets into Florida. Have there been?

There is systematic oppression of Cubans by the American Capitalist imperialists, still they like to secretly buy the cuban cigars.

Hamas is a terrorist organisation. Designated a terrorist organisation by Israel, the US and the EU http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/1654510.stm

As I said before, I believe Israel has every right to inspect the contents of this ship as to what it is bringing to Gaza. It has had many attacks on its territory and many countries waging war against it.

I think Israel can handle the situation better economically for the Palestinians however I would never want to see Hamas in charge as they are now. There is a reason they deny fresh elections. They need to renounce their aims to destroy Israel and establish an "Islamic state".

Cuba is a freedom loving country, a popular revolution ousted the Batista American imperialists, the embargo and blockade has made the economic situation terrible for the people, yet they still stand fast to their ideals and do not fire rockets into Florida.
