The classic response! I guess that six years in the Navy and Law school won't help either, right? I got 160 on the LSAT on my first try in High School, and I was probably only a little less stupid than you are at present.SgtMajor wrote:QUOTE (SgtMajor @ Oct 20 2012, 03:25 PM) Tl;dr again, sorry walls of text show inability to be short and to the point in an effort to elongate conversations and fooling individuals into thinking you hold some form of intelligence. Also good luck getting a job with a PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT POLI SCI DEGREE HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHHA
See me in ten years and I'll see if I can help you out my child.

Unemployment statistics. It was 6.0% for Political Science majors in 2010, and unemployment was even WORSE in 2010. Plus, the median salary is actually somewhere in the middle of the majors listed. WHAT?
Lawyered.

POLITICAL SCIENCE MAJOR HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAH
I didn't know people actually did that for a degree in a serious nature, I thought it was a in-between, like for me when I swapped Chemical Engineering for Biomedical Engineering
See you in ten years? Sure should I look for you in the welfare line?

Meh, both parties, israel gov and hamas get a lot of income out of the perpetuation of the conflict, is like they were allies, never taking real steps to end the conflict, military or otherwise, both get a lot of funding from foreigners for doing absolutely nothing of value or benefit to their respective nations.

Indeed. Many proxy wars are being fought from different agendas and much double standards using the worker as fodder for the capitalist fat cats to sell their weapons.SumVeritas wrote:QUOTE (SumVeritas @ Oct 21 2012, 11:42 AM) Meh, both parties, israel gov and hamas get a lot of income out of the perpetuation of the conflict, is like they were allies, never taking real steps to end the conflict, military or otherwise, both get a lot of funding from foreigners for doing absolutely nothing of value or benefit to their respective nations.

my point... one man's terrorist is another mans freedom fighter. The conflict in the middle east needs talks and compromises for prosperity but who will give in, who wants to give in?
If there are no talks and no compromises for the common good even if much will be sacrificed.. then might is right will take over and STALIN (or whoever is powerful enough through force of arms) will decide.
If this flotilla doesn't want to not go through official channels and let the Israelis inspect the goods they are bringing to Hamas... then they can expect to be boarded.

these statistics seem pretty worthless to me.

No, I do not want organizations to send aid to Hamas, and I think Israel has every right to search ships that attempt to run a blockade. What I disagree with is implementing a blockade in the first place and shooting civilians for no good reason. Very, VERY few people have died because of rocket attacks compared to how many have been slaughtered by Israeli security forces and it's not like Gaza still doesn't need aid as I pointed out above. However, this wasn't so much a search as a raid. Gaza isn't exactly a large area, and there are countless Israeli forces in the area. It is much more civil to let the ship dock and search it then, or search the goods that get brought out, rather than storm the ship in the night and run the risk of shooting a bunch of well meaning but foolish civilians. And yes, it's foolish to run a blockade when you know of its existence just to prove a point, but that doesn't give Israel the right to shoot people that do it, especially if they're unarmed.
I oppose any organization that uses extremism in an attempt to accomplish goals...both Hamas and the IDF.
What I WANT is for Israel to either go in and develop the Palestinian territories or implement a two state solution, AND for the aggrieved parties on either side to stop killing people. Now you're right, it has to start somewhere and one side has to make a concession. That side should be Israel. The alternative is asking Hamas to stop killing civilians. That's all well and good, and you can even shoot the bastards but it isn't exactly working out very well, is it?
I mean think about this. If Israel doesn't want ships running blockades and delivering aid to the Palestinians, maybe they should create conditions on the ground where the Palestinians no longer require aid and don't have a reason to kill Israelis.
