i don't get what's the big deal here. why is this supposed to be so scary if you have all the equipment to deal with it? space suit and parachute... what more do you want. it's just like sky diving but with less wind in your face.

also what's the big deal with "spinning out of control"??? so you spin a bit in the stratosphere, reach a denser patch of atmosphere and skydive the rest of the way down.

Except when all the blood rushes to your head and makes you pass out (or worse?). Skydiving unconscious is not a good idea, even if you have parachutes which can deploy automatically based on air pressure.
