In opposition to many other politicians romney is not the party principles guy, he is doing more reality-base-politics. He is very pragmatic and even doing things which are against the republican agenda (like rasing taxes, health care...) as long as those things made sense and there was a majority for them. This flexibility and ability to adapt is in my opinion one of his strenghts. Sadly this is not seen as a strength by his party and by the american voters.

I'm voting for Romney and here's why:
I think the biggest issue in this election is the economy. It was a big issue last time, but I think we also had foreign policy to deal with. So with a candidate that would be good with the economy and not as good at foreign policy (McCain) versus a candidate prospectively good at both (Obama), I think that Obama was the right popular choice for the country at that time. And I am pretty happy with Obama's foreign policy decisions.* This election, the economy is such a big issue that it overshadows everything, and so I would hope that the popular vote focuses on that almost exclusively. Romney is rich, this is true. That is pretty much a big reason I want to vote for him. If he had the ability to accumulate wealth for himself, and the organizations he worked in, then I do not see why we would not want this man at the head of our nation. You can think he's an "ass" and whatever else you may think of him, but even if that were true, I would not care. I am not voting based on this man's character, I am voting on his ability to lead our country upwards economically. Social issues can come later for me, as long as we don't regress in social liberties too much during his term.**
*Hilary Clinton is probably one of my favorite people in the world.
**I'm not saying this because I'm some entitled white boy. I'm a gay, Latino, Middle-eastern Christian, so get at me.

i'll just leave those here

the tl;dr is mitt romney's money wasn't made by innovation in manufacturing or constructive means, his money was made by $#@!ing other companies (and by extension people) over

although that's how the country largely got into the position of power (that and geographical advantage) it's in today so i can see the appeal

Ron Paul would of been good

otherwise doesn't matter who you vote for in the USA.... they are both sides of the same coin.

That's a shame Tango. With your combination of characteristics you'd make a great political prop for the democrats. Only thing missing is military service.

Lol I make a pretty good prop for most things, which is why I try to not pick one side over the other. The issues that come with a two-party system are too large and I would rather vote for the situation, not the entire platform of a Republican or Democrat.

So... the Clinton speech. It seems like Jon Stewart's analysis hits home pretty hard. The democratic party can actually argue based on numbers and figures... the republican ticket is offering nothing but emotionally loaded language and hate of the opposition. If you can win a presidential election based entirely on bull@#(! I recommend any sensible yank start thinking about moving to Canada before they close the border.
