I'm still genuinely interested to know how creationists explain features on Mars that on Earth they attribute to the great flood. It's entirely possible of course that nobody's asked the question before so they haven't come up with an answer (and it does seem that that's how it works rather than creationists making discoveries for their own sakes).

That's nothing, how do they explain the existence of Mars at all! What is the point of another barren planet if Earth is just a six thousand year old garden made for humans. Why did God create the lifeless, pointless rock? Did he screw up in creating it? What about the whole rest of the solar system? Are the other stars and galaxies all there just to add sparkly lights to our night-sky, and what was the point of making all that ancient light so it looks like it must have existed for bilions of years?

Honestly, clinging to a creation myth in the face of all we can see of the universe is just heart-breakingly tragic. That is willfully ignoring reality since you can't face up to it, nothing more.

There was a flood on Mars of course! It says so in the Bible! :D

Mars exists because god created the chocolate caramel bar 1 day before he created peanuts.

God was only practicing on Mars. Wanted to make sure his cult would flourish.
A hero is not one who never falls, but one who gets up again and again, NEVER losing sight of one's dream!

Silly lad... cults don't receive tax breaks.

Edit: Thinking about this... should cults receive tax breaks if they provide some form of community benefit? Churches around here definitely do beneficial community work (soup kitchens, homeless shelters, domestic abuse support, etc.) Even if some of those programs have less than agnostic messaging associated with them, they sure beat an empty stomach, night in the cold, or punch in the face.

So, they pick up where local government falls off, and a lot of good they do.

Soooo... in this modern day and age, is it still possible to start up a new cult and make the jump into religion?

Yeah Durr Raveen!

If God can magic up some trillions of litres of water for a flood he can make Mars have similar features.

In fact he probably just copy-pasted it and then did some minor photo shop editing to touch it up.

We both know that's not how creationism likes to think that it works. Although I'd agree that you've boiled down the salient points of most of their arguments.

God doesn't like to draw attention to himself, that's why he doesn't do any good. and in his infinite and omnipotent free time he does things to disprove his very existence, so nobody expects anything from him.
