How do you people fly with a mouse?

I've tried multiple times to "get good" at flying with a mouse.

The results? Me being podded more often than usual (which is amazing in of itself).

How do you do it? There is no indication, other than the "feel" of the movement, where the "center" is to bring the mouse back to. The controls are kinda the same as in a game like Freelancer, which I have no problem controling with a mouse, but without the visual indicators as to where the pointer is. So, basically, I fly around in circles and slam into rocks.

Don't know what to tell you I fly with a keyboard & mouse and it feels quite natural.

if your ship is turning one way, move your mouse the other, but don't overshoot, its not really that hard.

if you need to stop your ship turning, you can press num 0 twice

I think of it as an FPS when I use the mouse...it's really not that hard, you just move the mouse to where you want to go and fly there.

In fact you make intuitively same movements with mouse as with joystick... you should look at your mouse settings instead. if you experience problems

I'm a terrible fighter, and I get podded all the time.

I'm no good at dogfighting.

However.. even though I was always terrible, I did improve a bit when I switched from a joystick to a mouse.

So, no, they aren't lying.
