I find the idea more amusing that science made us to slaves.

Look, science seems to be a book - seemingly a neverending one - where things get into which put us into a shape of borders where we are not allowed to break out.

In conclusion:
No Science-Book!
No Science-Border!
Beschenkt die Starken!
Schröpft die Schwachen,
und die Armen schlagt ans Kreuz!

Wir hängen nicht am Leben,
doch an einem Traum!

Come now my cricketing Jiminey! How would you know what's right and what's wrong if no one told you? If it's not the good book, then it's just going to be some other book right behind it, waiting to take it's place.

How do you mean? God created random mutations, and without god every child would be a perfect copy of its parent(s)? That seems counter intuitive.

QUOTE From my point of view, you absolutely cannot accept science and "faith" at the same time. I feel it's fine to believe in imaginary fairy tails, do whatever you want -- but don't try to say it's factual, and don't say science is wrong if you can't disprove it.[/quote]

From my point of view, I have not yet found any irreconcilable contradiction between science and (my) faith. Specifically, I have found that the theory of evolution has no truly necessary contradiction to the story of creation, and that the story of creation, as it is told, can be interpreted in such a way that allows for the progression of events described by evolution.

If anything, I find it uncanny that the order of creation of the various forms of life in the story of Genesis coincides with what modern-day biology tells us about the evolution of life from "the primordial ooze".

No. God kicked things off and let the chips fall as they may, whether or not he knows how the chips will fall is quite irrelevant.

I don't disagree with you. The point is saying what you believe is provable, which many people do (not necessarily you, personally). I think this happens because they either 1) afraid of losing their faith if they accept science completely or 2) don't understand what science is.

Where do you need the supernatural in that?

The supernatural is needed to explain how it all started. It isn't really necessary thereafter.

That is the beauty of it... allows for the peaceful coexistence of God and Science.

As you wish. To me it seems like going 90% of the way towards accepting a non supernatural world, and not taking the last step. Still, That sort of philosophical theism doesn't really effect anything, so I'm pretty cool with it.
